What is 91mm long, made by Vic, and has a pruner and a serrated main?

I don't know, but if the picture on eBay is truthful, it is coming to me.  :D

It also has the 4-line Victorinox tang stamp, solid awl, and fluted corkscrew, along with scissors, openers, wood saw and file. It was described as a Ranger, but I've never seen or heard of a Ranger with that blade configuration. Anyone got any ideas?

It's called an "Outdoorsman". Vic used this name for two different knives; this is the original version. Very cool knife, basically a Ranger with pruning blade, serrated main, and no fine screwdriver. Original ones were Elinox branded, and later ones (up to the mid 80s) were Victorinox.

Thanks Jazzbazz! It is the Outdoorsman

I've never seen that blade combo- I'm now prowling for another one. Probably won't find another one where the seller mis-IDed it.

And Njfist, it was this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&nma=true&item=160581149359&si=3KwSqKup2r9njkdpRZ4kUak1sRo%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

  • I'm not all bad, I'm just drawn that way.
I like that a lot - I love me a pruner blade in my tools :D
