I had this set made up by Mike at Sugar Creek Knifeworks
The Huggare has a full-tang 9” blade of 5/32” O-1, scandi-grind with a little bit of convexed edge. OAL is just a touch over 14”
I also had a companion belt knife made…a combination of his “Woodie” handle with the blade profile from his “Modern French Trade Knife”. It’s also O-1 with a scandi-grind.

He does really nice work. He's been a part-time maker who recently decided to go full-time.
I'm thinking of having him do a full-tang Puukko for me next.

Yes, but I'm afraid I'm going to be making my own
I asked that the Maple only be lightly oiled so I could complete the finishing myself. I'm using my standard Pine Tar mix.

Yep...Pine tar, boiled Linseed oil and Turpentine. I read somewhere that the Finns used that mix on their Moisin-Nagant stocks. I use it as a finish on my knife handles.
