Tilley's are awesome but I'm looking at a similar style hat that's made of pig skin, you can crumple them up and they pop back into shape, they are better in wet weather as they are oil skin

Well I just picked up my Tilley Airflow in olive.  I love this thing!  I immediately appreciated the airflow design when I stepped out of Cabelas into the Texas heat today.  I'm bald, and it felt great to have cranial airconditioning.

It's also nice to have a hat that doesn't pinch my head and give me a headache, as I am susceptible to them.  I look forward to years of wearing this thing, it matches my Saddleback Satchel quite nicely.

I really like that T3 model, and T5MO is great... But they are a bit pricey!

I was totally going to buy one but I called my dad to ask him about his and he told me to wait, he's going to pass down my late grandfather's Tilley instead, I know it's older so it's probably not an airflow style but I'm all about old school. Hopefully I can keep my wallet in my pocket for five more weeks!  Where did you find that sachel merc?

Why thank you!  The whip may have to wait, but I do have a leather jacket that would look smashing with both, and some cool boots to match.

Meow if I only had time to actually DO something other than work, I might be able to test all this stuff out.

I've got a Tilley Airflow LTM6 that I got from my brother, and couldn't live without it !
I have to use it always outside, because my skin reacts very violently to light [any light]. People only know me with hats on.

I used to have a black Stetson [well, I still have it], but that thing is WAY too warm, especially in summer.

My brother was very proud when he gave me the Tilley, and he still is. I really need it.

I am bald(of my own volition, mostly) so I have to have a hat when outside, or else wear a ton of sunscreen on my head which gets old.  The great thing about the Tilley is it shades all sides of your head, something ballcaps just can't do.   Not that I pay attention to that, I have a crap load of ballcaps, including a sweet olive colored one from MT.O.

I've been reading this thread with some interest. I have an old US Army-issue Boonie that I constantly have on, and love that hat. But, the Tilly's look somewhat neater and just as versatile. Here this forum goes, spending my money again....

A ballcap would be utterly useless to me, even though an MT.o cap sounds very cool to have., even if it is just to have as a 'collectors item'. :)

Someone pm def and tell him to order some Tilley MTO editions!  That would be "must have" swag.

That's an option we'd considered, either having them embroidered or having a Multitool.org patch sewn on them.  I think the cost or minimums were somewhat prohibitive and I think we back burnered the idea.  Best to ask Travis as he's the one that looks after that stuff.  I give him ideas and he tells me whether they make much sense or not.  Since he is usually shooting me down I don't pay attention to the details that much!  :P

I get issued a T3 Tilley hat through work .I've grown very fond of mine and often wear it . Its great as a sun hat and equally as good in the rain although it does blow about in the wind a bit but does have a chin strap .

Sorry about my ugly mug  :P

Tilleys are pricey, but made very well.

Me, I use a cheapo $12 military boonie hat and that works well enough for me.
