AutoTool question
on: June 05, 2011, 12:33:46 AM
Is there more than one version of the Autotool?  I ask because today I found a highly polished version . It's not just a normal version that someone polished because the lettering is in a different place than normal.              I know there is a chinese version but this is'nt one of them.

Pics when I get home later.     Thanks in advance for any help.
Dennis

There are two versions. I have one but I think bob or chako may have both and can explain the difference.

Here you go.

One version has a combo flat head screwdriver/can opener, and the other just has the flat head screwdriver. If there are more versions, I do not know of them.

Can't wait to see pics of your Dennis.

Not much light tonight so sorry for the bad pics. I will try to get some better ones tomorrow.    But you can still tell how polished this tool is from the reflection. It's  as shiny as the swisstool, and the logo is in a different place than the normal Autotool

OK I had a ferret around  :D :D. My Autofool is a latter version with a replaceable ice scrapper , but not shiny like yours Dennis  .

The ice scrapper is pinned so it can be replaced, earlier versions were not pinned & could not be replaced.

Dennis does your shiny one have a pinned scrapper  .

Def had a spare ice scrapper  :D :D :D.
Getting that pin out looks a bit tricky too

I think he needs the tool to go with the part   :P :D :D. That would give him 3 AutoTools :ahhh :ahhh :D :D

Does the handle have a hollow space for a scraper?

MultiMat, not so sure about that. What I do know is that Dennis is a pure genius for finding the odd, the esoteric, and the darn night impossible in multi-tools.  :D

You'd best send that one and the '97 signature one to me for safe keeping Dennis. :D

Seriously, I haven't seen one like that before. Mine have the bead blast finish on the handles. And like you say, no one could have polished those handles themselves, because the lock release sliders would have gotten in the way. :salute:
