I can see that- many homeless people here drink Lysol and Listerine for the alcohol in it, and teenagers have been abusing cough syrup since well before my day.  It's no surprise that someone put two and two together and realized there's alcohol in hand sanitizer, even if it's the wrong kind of alcohol.

A friend of mine told me that when he was in the USMC, there was a sergeant (who had a drinking problem) that would take a bottle of after-shave and pour it through several slices of bread in order to get to the alcohol.  I also remember reading a magazine article in the mid-1980s about the alcohol-based fuel the Russian military uses.  According to the article, most of the fuel produced will never be used as fuel;  It is diverted (read "stolen") by soldiers, who then filter it and drink/sell the alcohol.

It's sad but true. And I've experienced worse.

When an alcoholic gets that craving, nothing is going to stop him from pursuing a drink. Do you think that just because the guy is in the hospital being treated for an alcohol-related health condition, he's going to stop chasing that feeling? Hell no! Believe me, untreated alcoholism is a scary thing.......
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D
