COVID-19 may mean I'm not in stores as much, but that's kind of a good thing as I'm not out impulse buying stuff. I've been using it to order the more inexpensive stuff I've been planning to buy online for as much as a year or more.

My folks ordered the seeds and plants this year online from Burpee.  With that order, I bought this knife, a Dutch-made Dewit "Garden Knife"; which has a 4" boron steel blade. Supposedly very tough and abuse-resistant. Not that I do it, but this is for yard work; a tougher knife than my Mora, and a lighter knife than my Kabar. No sheath, meaning I will need to make one.

And from some other places; These I've been looking at buying for more than a year.

Dexter Russell; 3 1/4" blade net knife. For heavy cutting, aggressive serrations always do the trick. And, sub $20 USA made.

R. Murphy Knives

Fisherman's Pal; USA made and with a leather sheath, I felt $25 was pretty cheap. It's either 1095 or some stainless; they mentioned both variously. This is mostly for fishing, but I like the blade style.

Sheffield, England made Yachtmaster.  With a 3.25" closed length, a lot easier to carry than the 4 1/2"-5" monsters I have at present for rope and rigging. I can see myself carrying this every day, especially since the spike locks (my others don't).  On sale for $12, so I couldn't say no.

I've got me a blank Alox MiniChamp as well as a US made Leatherman Micra on order.  Hopefully, they both will be here by the weekend.

My PX and the special Pioneer i ordered a few weeks back seem to be lost in the USPS network. Last confirmed action was them coming out of customs. Since then no update  :-[

I like the looks of that one.

I do as well. It appears to be essentially the same pattern as the Bosun's Mate from Captain Currey, but has a nail nick instead of a round hole for opening, and it drops the shackle key cut into the handle. I just learned the spike on the Yachtsman, like the Bosun's Mate it is derived from, locks.  Personally, without the shackle key, and with a traditional "nail nick" instead of the hole, I think it looks better.

Great score on the Alox Minichamp by the way. Both of mine are Cellidor.

Nice selection you got. Like the fish knife and this last one. Very unusual.

I put a missing package report in with USPS. The first email told me that it left customs. No smurf, Sherlock. I can see that from the tracking  What I wanted from you was more information than what I can find out myself  :pok:

Happy to say that eBay is still shipping, unlike Amazon.
My MiniChamp came in yesterday and the Micra, today.
I think that the boss lady ordered me a silver Alox by Amazon and was told that non essential shipments weren't going to be shipped until after mid May.

Lockdown boredom is fuelling eBay browsing
Just ordered 2 pairs of binoculars
Pentax Papilio 8.5x21 for insects and Minox 10x42 for everything else
Also a  box set of 6 unused Wenger table knives !!...I must have been really bored, right!!
Sad fact is I can’t think of a damn thing I want.
Would love to discover a stash of old new stock Wenger knives.  :dd:
Looked at vic stuff, but just doesn’t inspire me at all these days.
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

Thanks Wspeed
Would you believe the Papilio just turned up  :o
I ordered them Saturday morning. The minox late last night.
Well, I’ve just unboxed - these were new last pair in stock and £50 cheaper than amazon!!
The minox bins are used but look new to me, should be here tomorrow

Wow, focuses down to 1.6ft!!
......Off outside to explore  :salute:

I was about to buy new, but checked used and the minox had just gone up. Cheap as chips for that brand so just clicked buy it now without reading description- turns out they are mint, used once. Were a gift but seller never used them. The pictures back up his claims...wait and see...as they say.
EEK!!

No need
They were listed as “ used..as new, mint”
So if not they will be returned at sellers expense.
I’m chuffed to bits, if I sold both I’d lose a little on the Papilio but gain big on the minox- would probably get my money back. It’s how I justify buying things. I have to know I can recoup my money if needs be.

Typical Yorkshireman eh’...tight as a ducks ass  :D

I just ordered a Celestron StarSense camera for my telescope so that the scope can align itself. I've always found it too expensive, but it takes the tedium out of setting it up.
I mean, it's a GoTo scope so it should all work automagically, right? :)
