Not a multi tool, but this is my new custom motorcycle chain Damascus Bowie knife made with Water Buffalo horn with a rattlesnake sheath. He is also making me a rattlesnake sheath for my Leatherman Charge. Going to pick it up in a few.

Thanks. It is a work of art. I will post the rattlesnake sheath for my Leatherman Charge when I get it.

Well my patches finally showed up, :mail: there like my fav patch and I found them on sale for dirt cheap, and to top that off the guy had them in three colors, so you could buy a single or a pack of 5, and when I spoke to the guy I asked him if he would do 2 white, 2 gray, and one gold, rather then all one color, and the guys like sure no prob, well look what shows up at my door, 2 of each patch so a freebie and a free pair of cufflinks to match, like cool.. :tu: not that I’ll ever need cufflinks but still cool!

I don't know if it counts or not as "On the Way"; but some months ago, I uncovered a McCulloch MAC130 in a bunch of junk in the garage. Looked to have still ran when it was put away, but I am letting a family friend who repairs small engines and charges much less than the dealer for his work to have a look at it; as I'd just thought of it as he was returning a riding lawnmower he had repaired, and helping us out by clearing some broken weedeaters and pushmowers that had accumulated for about 15 years (and previously cannibalized for parts before) for parts/scrap.

The McCulloch MAC-130 is a top handle saw and known to be quite solid. They made this saw from 1977 to their closing in 1997. I wanted to switch to a longer bar (the maximum it can take is a 16"), but this will be my yard work saw due to being a top-handle saw, so sticking with the 12-incher. Farm work will be done with my Stihl 011AV.  It's new enough to have the chain brake and an automatic oiler, but still old enough to be a magnesium frame. Thinking this one is from the 1980s It's still just a ten-pound saw; quite lighter than my old 011AV. I find it much better balanced and easier to carry.

This isn't my saw (and fitted with the 14" bar), or my photo. But, it's about the same age.

I just bought a knife I'm not all that interested in because it comes with a sheath I think may fit another knife I already have. :twak: Am I the only one who does this? ::)

Yep, I have. Especially when I see the heavily discounted Bear and Son "seconds" that Amazon lists without calling them such. The tools are crap, but Bear makes some of the strongest and highest quality nylon sheaths.

I tend to put as short a bar as is still useful on my chainsaws, the chain runs faster so they cut faster, and it is easier to keep the tip out of trouble too.

You do then need a bigger saw for larger logs, but that is usually more efficient and quicker than making a small saw cut wood bigger than it is comfortable doing anyway.

Sweet find! McCullouch, if I remember right, made some stout chainsaws. My Dad owned one, and I don't recall him ever speaking ill of it.

Must be one awesome sheath! I've never bought a knife or tool in the hopes it came with a sheath that fit one I already own. If fact, I'm almost at the point I'd prefer to buy a new knife with no sheath and get one made. (Old collectible knives with original sheaths that are in good condition are an exception.) Sheaths are one thing I've gotten very picky about.

Agreed. I also found a Homelite with about an 18" bar, but doubt if it runs or could be fixed. I think I'm better off just buying a new Husqavarna given it hasn't been running since the 1980s. And the saw weighs about 30 pounds due to being an old magnesium frame model. Plus I don't get the chain brake or automatic oiler in a saw from the early '70s.

I uncovered a McCulloch MAC130 in a bunch of junk in the garage.

My first chainsaw was a MAC110 and since then I have acquired a few more Macs: a MacCat ('90s plastic job), a PM610 plus another couple of spares (heavy brick but reliable), and a 2-10 from the 1960s. The 2-10 is more the style and era I like. My next one might be something bigger like a PM700, 850, 125, who knows...

Some people really hate the Mini Macs, especially working on them. You need to take it out of the case to get at the carb and on the earliest ones you had to do the same for the starter. Some call them boat anchors. But there are some of us who love them.

Here is a thread about them: https://www.arboristsite.com/threads/mcculloch-mini-and-small-cc-chainsaws.218770/page-58

I was looking for a NexTool Flagship Mini and happened upon Touch of Modern.  Normally, it's not a place I'd buy anything from. They normally just don't sell the type of stuff I buy. It's for an upscale urban audience in my mind. Not "in the sticks" like me.

Had $20 off any order, so I got one of those tiny crossbow doohickeys, only 5" long. Been wanting one of them since I was a teenager, and $5 total wasn't something to complain about.

Will need to remember to buy toothpicks next time I'm at a store. And I'm pretty sure I'd better wear my safety glasses.

I found out that somehow, the spark plug hole had been reamed out by a poorly attempted repair many years ago. I let the guy have it for parts.  I'm glad this guy doesn't charge to just look at stuff, as some do.

Well the Olight sale is upon us, so incoming (hopefully later this week) there will be :

I1r 2 x2
OPort charging adapter
i5R Copper
Obulb Multicolour x4
Osling
Omino charging dock
Seeker Pro 3
Open Pro Titanium
Open Pro regular
Array Headlamp

The sale bundle and free gifts made it great value, I won a £50 coupon on their daily spin thing which  knocked it down further, and placed a separate order for the Oport which let me use the OFan day £5 sale coupon and grab the second free i1r 2  :tu:

I don't actually want a chunk of this, so family presents for the year sorted and some reselling to do  :ahhh

I have an i1R 2 and an oPen Mini coming from the US version of the sale.

I ordered this a couple of weeks ago from Shepherd Hills Cutlery on sale (not much, but enough to be about equal to the shipping costs; which made it about the same as getting free shipping); and since they just charged my card, I presume it's going to ship soon. It was on backorder all this time.

Case Copperhead; Yellow Delrin/CV.  I wanted a workhorse,  not a shelf queen/pocket jewelry.  At 3 3/4" closed with clip and pen blades, it fits my needs perfectly.

Great score! I suppose the seller's personalized and wordy listing played a part.   And they listed it in smoking pipes.
