Swissbianco doesn't ship outside US anymore.
on: June 22, 2011, 05:33:12 AM
SwissBianco's new newsletter is out. I really want some of those new 84mm and 93mm +B alox . But Roger told me he doesn't ship outside the USA anymore.
That's hard for the overseas  alox collectors.
He sent his newsletter but he not sells them for export.
I know he had some problems in the past with lost mail.
He sold them at ebay to in the past worldwide but I don't know he will do that again.
I know there are more outside US collectors, they have the same problem now.
I have many alox now and my collection is still growing, so I don't like to miss some of the new ones.
He is sold out fast with the limited ones.He has no webshop or sales-organisation.
When he has overstock he sells them at some dealers like Tim.
So I hope he change his mind in the future because I have no family or friends in the US.

I use www.shipito.com for companies that don't send overseas or charge way too much for freight.  I paid the $50 for a year so I could have a virtual mailbox and have combined 5 or 6 packages into a box that they sent to me - I've saved heaps in shipping costs.  There are plenty of other companies that offer a similar service, though it is only shipito that I have experience with.

I think I have found my solution for my shipping problem now.
I have an account at www.shipito.com so I hope this works for
all my US only or CONUS only sales.

From my experience it works well for companies that don't want to handle international shipping, but there are plenty of sellers that refuse to accept overseas credit cards or non-US paypal.  One option for those cases is using 'assisted purchases' but that costs more.

Did he say why he couldn't be bothered to ship to the rest of the world?

I'm sure there are plenty of members here that would ship it to anyone outside the US.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Did he say why he couldn't be bothered to ship to the rest of the world?

He writes that many of his SAK's got lost by the mail, and many mailmen carry +B SAK's now.
I did lost last year one SAK to he sent to me, but that was at my own risk.
Also I never recieved an ESEE6 I bought here at this forum. No blame to the seller,so also at my risk. This member had more losts he ships the last times.
I Don't know where they got lost,at the US postoffice or on the way.
Thats why many people at forums and ebay sells CONUS only I think.
Insurance or delivery conformation gives problems at sellers to when mail is lost.
There is always an risk by shipping, also for US only.
I know when I ask here for help that many members will help with shipping outside the US,
but I think this company helps me out to with no risks or problems for members when the mail got lost. I trust everyone here to,that's no point, but the risk is at me and the shipping company now when mail get lost.
When for only ones I will ask here, but when this company is usefull for me I will use them for more sales in the future.

I know I've had this rant before but here goes again (sorry).  The reason the person sending an item is the one to buy insurance is because he's entered a contract with you (when you paid him for an item) to supply you with said item.  If the item is then lost in the post he's still obliged to make good or refund your cash.  If he doesn't buy insurance that's his fault, not yours.

Now the whole 'sent at buyer's risk' is OK if it's amongst friends and both folks have agreed to it, but anyone running a professional business should know better. >:(

Well, it's a shame he does not sends his knifes out of US anymore... ???
He is a good seller and I like a lot his products, already bought many and all arrived perfectly.
That's a good sign for him, selling a lot, does not take chances anymore...too bad for us.
Sometime stuff I buy on ebay does not arrives but is quite rare, about one time for about 25 or 30 purchases.
I get really sad when it happens, and usually is too late to use ebay buyer protection, but as Jan said, I always assume that it was stolen on mail,
or on customs, and is not the sellers fault.
So many sellers on ebay does not send their knifes outside US, I believe they don't want to go to the post office to fill the custom's form, the rather send it
from their homes. Because of that I am always very gratefull for the ones that send their knifes out of the US, and I bet they sell their knifes for much higher
prices on ebay, with many more bids. I've seen some pretty rare ones being sold for 20 or 25 dollars because the seller only ships to US.
Well, I guess I will try those services too, I hope it works fine.
