Those bits of horn didn't work,  ::)  try again

Test horn offcuts to see if the dark core will lighten using peroxide or bleach
Sharpen while we are waiting

Not too bad, still needs some work on the pins and polishing

Comes with my classic Sparky lopsided scales  :D

I better ask Steve if it is a barlow as it only has the one lambs foot blade

BTW Tony, by complete accident I found out about a source of thin brass plate........it's sold as "shim stock" in various thicknesses!

Bit in the expensive side, but my buddy with the engineering shop needs to get some, and I can buy from him.......maybe, hopefully 2018 will be the year of my first folder.

The bolster is inspirational considering the big bar of brass I recently bought  :salute: :salute:

Thanks Steve (I'm still blaming you though  :) )

Paul  :salute:

Gerhard thanks Mate,
the trouble I find when I'm using brass is you get it looking nice, turn your back on it and scratches instantly appear   :ahhh

A better shot, still needs more bleaching and polishing

Very good work Tony!    :like:   From the research I've done lots of the early Sheffield Barlows were single bladed.    :)
What? Enablers! Are you serrrrious? Where? I dont see any.

I know exactly what you mean......isn't that part of the charm?

Copper is even worse, but I saw in a Man At Arms video how they turned copper red by quenching in a Borax solution.....I'm gagging to try that  :gimme:

Edit: the tang stamp probably was E BLYDE etc etc. At least that's what I saw in the image search
