I happened upon an interesting Victorinox slipjoint today and did not have a chance to inquire about it but am interested in tracking one down for EDC use.

Description: About the same length as my Soldier. Scales were red anodized aluminum, flat with no texture and the rivets were exposed. The knife was only one layer thick and had only one blade. The blade was a fully serrated hawkbill with standard Victorinox stamping on the tang.

Any suggestions as to what model it may be?

No clue, but I would sure like to know what it is. The wife could certainly use it in the garden. I allready got her EDCing a Old style wave and a surefire G2.

Well ....do way you say , looks like a BAKERS KNIFE. but to be sure , I would like to see a picture....
But that's yhe only one I can think of it .

My first thought was a model from their gardner line, but then you mentioned the blade.

I'm pretty sure that that is the Baker's Knife, as well.

From the sites I found it looks to be 2.25". Small enough to add to my EDC without having to remove anything else.

Does Vic (I don't want no Wenger!) make a Yachtsman/British Army knife? (Sheepsfoot blade, can opener, spike, flathead screwdriver)

Not currently. There have been a few of those issued in the past in pretty red ALOX handles but the only current issue Victorinox Yachtsman type knives are the Skipper:

I know you said you don't like Wenger (a theory I'll have to address eventually!) but they produce a nice knife endorsed by the Alinghi racing team:

Pliers, corkscrews, and phillips take away from the charm somewhat - I just has a brief scan of the (American) Vic site - No Sheepsfoot blades at all to be seen.

Sheepsfoot? Did you see the Electrician knives? Try these links. No Pliers, corkscrews or phillips to "take away from the charm" either. No spike, but it has the best awl on any knife.:

Wenger PocketGrip/MiniGrip? There is a version of this that has metal scales, this is the "normal" version:

The "Driver" was perpendicular to the tool, so it must have been a Minigrip.

The driver fits in the end, as in my picture above, and it also fits perpendicular on the backspring of the knife, as you mention.

Funnily enough my boss gave me one at work a few weeks ago. Apparently they are issued to the bakers at Panera Bread for use as a scoring knife. It's a very good knife but I lost the damn thing a few days after receiving it. I've turned my house around looking for it but I am stuck in the couch paradox. I'm sure it'll turn up eventually, never lost a knife that wasn't later found.
