I picked up a new Skeletool...  "Carbon fiber" wasn't on the description anywhere, but it looks like it is.

(Image removed from quote.)

Very nice, Rich :tu:  :like:

The checkered pattern is the Carbon fiber on the Cx and now the newer ones are just smooth and plain in that area :-\

Hi all, just got a skeletool to try for camping/hiking when I don't need to carry too much. Now I need a sheath. I want something with a belt clip (not loop) that's not too bulky.

Saw some 3D printed ones on Etsy which I like since they're so slim but they're $30 for a little plastic. Some Kydex ones on Amazon but mixed reviews.

There are some fabric ones that have Velcro or snap to clip onto a belt instead of a loop which might work.

Anyone use something they really like? Thanks!

G'Day

Have a look at https://skinthsolutions.com. They are made by one of our inmates on here. Very well made, I have a belt loop one and really like it. Belt loop or clip is an option.

Cheers, Pete

I've been carrying this Skeletool for a few moths, and I love it. My wife got it for me as a gift, and in her typical fashion had it personalized by engraving my initials on the blade. I typically don't carry MTs too often because of the size and weight, but the Skeletool fits in with my EDC very well.

Shortly after receiving it, I had to make some upgrades. The zip tie on the blade was first. It's a very cheap and easy way to help with blade deployment. Next up were the bits. I found some flat/phillips combo bits and replaced both of the factory bits with one of those. I then went hunting for some square tip bits. All I could find were in the bit kit, and I couldn't justify buying the bit kit for just one bit. So, I emailed Leatherman. They sent me a three pack of the square tip bits for free. Great company! Last but not least, the Stammer Hammer (at least I think that's what it's called). My wife got this for me for our anniversary. It's a great addition that I highly recommend.

Anyway, here are some pictures.

The zip tie on the blade is a neat idea. Thus far I've had little trouble opening even the blade on a Rev one-handed...but that's without gloves. I can see the zip tie trick being beneficial if one has to try to open a blade with heavy gloves on.

One year ago today I created my account here.   My favorite multitool of over 20 years had just been stolen, and I was doing research on new tools and how to possibly modify them.  Thanks to you drug dealers, I quickly succumbed to a tool-buying frenzy.  When it was obvious I was out of control, I started a spreadsheet with all of the tools I was purchasing.  With my one-year anniversary here, I decided to calculate how much I have spent on Leathermans over the last year. Not counting tax, shipping, accessories, and tools I gave away as gifts, I spent $6,001.03 on just Leatherman tools  :ahhh  Yikes   :ahhh   The total for all tools including Gerber, Victorinox, SOG, etc is very sobering...

This Skeletool was the first tool I purchased thanks to you all, and it's still one of my favorites  :tu:

Wow!

I mean $6,000 would have been reasonable, but once you get beyond that…

I think a one year on state of the collection photo is required!

Just lay them all outside and post the coordinates - $6,000 of Leatherman tools must be visible from space!

Looking forward to seeing them  :tu:

Congratulations on your 1st anniversity, Rich! I know that I have enjoyed having you around

I started out with a spreadsheet in December of 2020, which is when I discovered MTO. I abandoned the spreadsheet in January of 2021 when it was showing me a total amount that I did not want to acknowledge as being true
