Now to pick your brains  :D

I removed the clip & replaced the screw but it doesn't look as nice as it would if both screws matched.  So does anyone know where I could get a countersunk screw ?

Yes I asked Leatherman US & they said that they couldn't supply one.  You can see that the clip screw sticks out & there is a gap where the clip went.  It would look perfect if both screws were countersunk.

Interesting... I find the clip is a great way to carry. Each to their own I guess.

I would never trust it in my pocket especially when I am working.  I use this which is the original Wave pouch & the perfect fit.  The clip was catching on the pouch & I find it nicer to hold without the clip.

I do find it disappointing that Leatherman won't supply screws. It would make me think twice about ever disassembling mine. Their email hardly inspires confidence either :

"Hello peter,

Thank you for contacting Leatherman Tool Group, Inc.

We do not have any other screw that is sunkin.

Welcome to MTO :salute: I love the old style leather Leatherman Wave sheath you have  Those are hard to come by these days :o Good luck on your quest to find the fastener you want and sorry that Leatherman wasn't any help :-\ Like Harley said though they really don't want people taking there tools apart  It voids the warranty and they would rather fix there own tools but what fun is that :D

That pouch is still available

http://www.leatherman.com/original-wave-brown-leather-sheath-311.html#start=5

I am going to try Leatherman in the UK.  I could be awkward & take the screw I need out, keep it, send the tool to Leatherman under warranty & then use the one I kept to replace the clip screw  :)

Really ?  Mine is an old Wave sheath & this new one is exactly the same size.  How is it different - apart fro the writing ?  It's even called Original Wave Sheath.

The leather is thinner and not as good quality .

Ok so i need to look after mine  :)  It's strange how a company can produce such a superb design as the Skeletool & then make a poor quality pouch.

Wonder why Leatherman hasn't come out with an all blackened or black oxide Skeletool yet?

Naked stainless steel catches too much attention compared to blackened blades and accessories. One would of thought by now Leatherman would of gotten wise and offered one in black oxide / black DLC. No chromed parts and such.

I think it would lose it's skeletal looks if it was all black.

I think it would lose it's skeletal looks if it was all black.

But it would be easier to use in work places that ban lethal weapons. You see a person using a naked stainless steel blade in the forbidden zone and see how much attention that derives. Now imagine the same person using an all black blade, probably won't get a second look.

I had purchased a Skeletool right after they were released, but it got missing at a previous job later that year.  Just picked up another one off eBay with a broken blade, so after a warranty claim, I'm a member of this club again!
