Good luck with that:

GAK Variants

Add to that the new one that will likely be available soon with the new opening hole and liners and you have a pretty hefty list!

I have been tempted for a while now to get a 108mm as the blade doesn't lock, but I was never sure if the blade was shorter than 3" or not?

It depends on the measurement point.  If you just measure the actual cutting area of the blade it's under 3" by a fair margin.  If you include the tang as well (or at least the part sticking out from the handle), it's over 3".

Thanks for that.

I am sure law here stipulates that it must have a cutting edge of less than 3" so I might get away with that one.

If things went south you could certainly use that as an excellent argument in front of the judge as well.  Provided you weren't doing something silly with it I doubt any LEO's would really want to make a big deal of it and go through the effort of writing a report and appearing in court etc.

It is on the list and is certainly one to buy before many others. :)

Just an update on the giveaway and a primer for the next.

Eddie has still not received his package. I have talking with him via PM and he isn't worried about it. He tells me that there are 7000  islands in the Philippines! They must be amazing people to be able to find or get anything. So I guess the lady at the post office who said it would be there in six days (I mailed it on Dec. 17th) was slightly off. WhichDawg got his package in 2 days.

This has delayed (NOT Eddies fault) our next contest, but in the interim I am having a "Surprise Giveaway" (in General Tools) of a camera, so you can check that out if you like.

Our next giveaway will have 3 winners and more in the Multitool vein, each package will have a multitool, a SAK, a flashlight, and two small waterproof boxes (a Pelican and an Otterbox) each crammed with EDC stuff.

The first winner will get his choice of multitool. They will be a Charge XTi, a Charge Ti and a Victorinox Spirit.

More details will follow when the contest starts in a new thread.

Thanks for your interest,

Calvin

You think you could drop Paris a note telling her how good I am at cramming? I would do it myself but I'm much toooooo shy. :-[

Glad to hear it got there! Nothing worse than not knowing if a package will turn up tomorrow or 3 months after its due date.

Enjoy the package Eddie!
