Black Pioneers rare?
on: August 19, 2011, 01:47:49 PM
There is a store near me that has a couple of these, listed at a regular price.

Black Alox with the regular Cictorinox cross.  Are these rare(ish) or just a regular released colour for this model?

Thanks

They are relatively freely available in the U.S. , and are one of the 5 colours that were ordered by the South African Victorinox importer, so are pretty freely available here too.

Not rare but may become that way. Just as any good Swiss army does.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

No they are not rare yet in the US.  They were temporarily out of stock so the price shot up on ebay for a few weeks.  They are appearing back in stock at many retailers.

They appear to be very popular so, they may become valuable again if supply stops.  I would not expect this to happen until at least 2012, but there may be a few weeks of tight supply before then.

If the price is good you may want to get one, especially if you like black SAKs like me.  You just never know when they will stop, but it's appears it may remain a regular item now for a couple of years.

The new Black Pioneer without the keyring seems to be harder to find. Anyone know where to get one of those?

Centralvalleywholesale on ebay says that they are re-released for a limited time.  I grabbed one of course.  :tu:
