How the smurf did you get Nukkie Brown beer glasses in the States?

Mind you,how the smurf do you get Nukkie Brown in the States?Theres pubs down my way that dont stock it!

I was in Birmingham a few years back, and the locals looked at me funny cos a southerner(how does that work anyway?I am Irish!) was drinking a northerners drink!

Nice glasses though.I'm jealous

I know of three or four bars that I used to frequent that had it on tap. Couple others that you can get it in bottles. Cap'n, nice glasses!

When I read the thread title, something in my head read "beer goggles" instead of "beer glasses"... LOL!

I'm partial to German beers myself... personally, I can't stand most Brit beer... tastes like piss filtered through shredded newsprint to me...  (just speculating there of course!)

Give me a good Spaten any day...  Or most of the stuff that Sierra Nevada makes... their Big Foot barelywine ale is so thick you can stand a fork up in it!

Ahem.  Bud is NOT a German beer... not even close!  According to the Rheinheitsgebot, the German beer purity law, Bud isn't beer because it doesn't have all four and only the four ingredients allowed in beer.

That reminds me of a funny story my wife told me a long time ago, not long after we met.  When she was in high school, she was out partying on the beach with some friends one night (she grew up in Los Angeles) when a couple of German tourists walk up to her, and offered her and her friends a case of Bud.  Of course, high schoolers not being ones to turn down free alcohol, they accepted it gladly.  When she asked them why they were giving it to them, the German tourists said "It says it's beer on the label, but it's not beer!"  LOL   :D

Oh, and yes, IPA's are some of my favorites, but it took quality brewers, like some of the micro and regional breweries we have here in California to really get it right!!!  :D  Sierra Nevada Pale Ale has always been one of my favorites, and New Belgium's, Ranger IPA is another great one... but even though IPA was invented by Brits (I'll give them that anyway), it took a German style brewing method to make it palatable!!! :D

Newcastle is pretty big here in the States. One of my favorite 'session' beers.

Now that the fall is almost here it's almost pumpkin beer time. Can't wait to be able to go get a four pack of Dogfish Head Punkin Ale.

Thought I should explain that up north (I was in Durham for some time a few years ago) you would ask for 'a bottle-o-dog'  :)

Quote
Newcastle Brown Ale was nicknamed "Dog" by people living in and around the areas of the North East of England. This stems from the locals saying, "Going to walk the dog." This was the excuse used to grab a pint at the local pub. The beer is often called 'Newkie Brown', or simply 'Brown' or ' Broon'

Also, if you were drinking in a pub that sold rough beer you would order a Newkie brown as it was the same where ever you were drinking  :salute:
Although I do prefer a proper pint of bitter  :tu: Newkie brown is the multitool of pints  :D

Yay beer!!!!! And no I'm not a beer snob. I've probably drank enough beer to float a medium sized Naval vessel and during my years and years of beer drinking I've only had ONE beer I didn't like.

There were some I liked better than others but for the most part I just like beer. All the way from the cheapest domestic crap to the finest beers in the world...it's all good.

they have codes in the 12pack/larger packs/kegs of Heineken over here, (12 = 200points) I had accumulated 2600, so I just redeemed a bunch of points for some beer glasses... had to pay shipping, but what the heck! Will post pictures when they arrive!

As a side note, I have a Guinness Pint glass that I rescued from a roundabout in London... I guess someone wandered out of a pub with it and decided to leave it there... at least I gave it a good home rather than a chav death!
