A few new slippies
on: September 06, 2011, 02:10:50 PM
Silk purses and sows ears here folks!

I've been looking for an alternative to my edc Taylors Eye Witness, for a hard working, inexpensive UK legal pocket knife.

I've been perving over these for months,so I finally took the plunge

I've fancied the Rough Rider StoneWorx since they came out.As with all RRs they're such good value for money. The pixs just dont do this little knife justice.

The Maserin is surprisingly wide, but offers a good comfortable grip.I may gice it a wee bit a sand down and stain the scales at a later point. Its not to say theres anything wrong with them,but...

For all that, its a bit more my style than an Opinel(ok thats opened te floodgates...),and for £12,you cant go too far wrong.

The fancier side of things came from 50ft-trad,as part of out trade.I've been looking for a Toothpick type knife, and Al said have a look at these:

Kershaw Double Cross(ok so its a linner lock, not a Slippie )

And:

Queen Cutlery Muskrat,ltd ed.

I love the Kershaw,I reckon its just the perfect work knife.Solid, traditional good looks, and a real feel of quality.

The Muskrat is just about the nicest knife I've ever had the pleasure to handle. In fact,it may just have reset whatI expect in a knife.Oh dear,I think life may just have got more expensive

Thanks to Al for being great to deal with :salute:.The cheapies came from Heinnies, dont need to say much more there ;)

There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Nice sodbuster.
I finally ordered a stoneworx too; they looked too inviting. How is the quality? Does it feel smooth? Does it feel like the small mosaic pieces will fall off?

Nice... nothing wrong with great value knives.

I'm a fan of sodbusters too; feel great in the hand.

It feels comendably smooth! As to pieces falling off?Time will tell!I didnt buy it as a shelf queen,so a bit of edc will put it to the test!Keep an eye out,if theres any problems I'll let youk now.Saying that all the StoneWorx are sub £20 quid...

:tu:

Still a lot of money for an RR knife, but I have been reading good things about RR pimped lines so I gave in.  Some sellers do list them for silly money though.

I've been trying so hard to forget about that Kershaw model and here you go reminding me how much I want one.  :twak:
