Leatherman tool " UNDER 4"  long -  when folded / collapsed.

Size is #1 consideration - tool are a secondary consideration

Out of the tools I have, I would say most likely the Juice Kf4, although I think I may prefer either the XE6 or the Pro when I get them.  The Juice series, despite the lack of locking implements, are pretty handly little tools that do work that many full sized tools can't do.

If size is a consideration, I prefer the original Leatherman PST over any Juice or Squirt model.  It is about 4" or less, is lighter than the CS4, has longer/stronger pliers, and appears better built.

I've gotten much more use from the Micra than the Juice, but I need a pliers so I carry a Micra in conjuntion with a larger, pliers multitool.

Here are the 4 I have narrowed it down to: AND what I prefer/like about each ( all are 4" folded )

Crunch - 14 tools, serrated blade

Fuse - 13 tools that lock, scissors

Kick - 12 tools, pocket clip.  $23 closeout sale !

Wave - 18 tools, scissors, pocket clip, clip & serrated blade, $5 at garage sale !

Why do I carry a 45 ?
Because they don't make a 46 !

When you lay it out like that, the Wave looks like a clear winner!

That is pretty hard to argue with...

Is it an old Wave or a new Wave?

"Is it an old Wave or a new Wave?"

No idea - it went right into a box and it's on it's way to LM for repairs / replacement...

How do you tell the difference?

I need a side by side - touchy feely comparision so I ordered a  Crunch - Fuse - Kick  to play with.
They should be here Wednesday and as soon as the Wave gets back I'll make a decision.

Probably the easiest way is with the removable bit driver.  Old Waves didn't have one, new Waves do.  There are other differences as well but that's the most obvious one.

Once I decide on 1 or 2 of the LM's I'll sell the left overs here. All depends on how they fit in my knife pouch that I now carry my EDC knife in ( hence the 4" limit ).

The early Wave does not have locking tools on the inside whereas the new wave small tools lock out.
