Use it   :pok:
:iagree: Even the multitools I use for work are in good condition. With cautious use and regular maintenance, I think this one will do just fine as well. Although I won't lend to someone who is using the tip of the blade as a pry bar. Rule of thumb: If you wouldn't lend out your wife, don't lend out your Multitool. :mn:

My 05 & 06 '96 BO CC ST. I bought this on Ebay recently and it was listed as unused. Really seems like that was the case, probably just looked at and played with over the years.

I wanted a ST and liked how the original was much smaller than the current version. But I'll most likely keep this one nice and still get a 300. 🤣

Love that the Leatherman collection is on display today, Rich  :like:  :2tu:

If only you had a sturdy dining table to assemble them and photograph them all at once. I wonder who could help you find one

I used mine for the first time in a long while now.  Had to unbox a picnic table for my sidekick.  Still going strong after many many years.

Bought what amounted to much used/perhaps abused example for not much.

Jaws wouldn't open as the wire cutters had a folded edge jamming them.

Unfortunately the small screwdriver snapped with a spark no less the second I tried to straighten it in the vice.
I reworked the stump as best I could

It will do.

No saving the serrations so reprofiled to a good edge

Sorted the tip and used diamond files to re edge the wire cutters. Did the twist the pivot trick I learned here to take out the slop in the Jaws. I don't mind the bite marks I left doing this.
Asswmbles it all, oiled and loctited it all together once the action was good.
Despite the very tough abuse it's once again as functional as when new, a tank.

I dislike the lock, if I could mod it to be non locking I would. I sharpen my blades to a keen edge and find unlocking blades cumbersome. Maybe I'll get used to it.

I have about six old school LM tools from the nineties and all were bought second hand, most in rough condition. It's testiment to the build quality and toughness that an hour of fettling has them ready for another thirty years of work.

Just wondering, do you know of any mods to remove the locking ability of this tool?

You would probably have to take the tool apart and grind each tool so that they won't engage in the lock

I don't really have a problem with the locks and it is a good trade off to how small it is comparatively to all the other tools in the Supertool family  :salute:

I think I'm getting the hang of the lock in use now Poncho. I had tightened the pivots a bit too much.
I have now set the tension so the tools are retained in the handle without flopping out, even with a smack of the hand. Before they were too tight and cumbersome to pull out to unlock with.
I had a couple jobs in the house and garden today and its like a pst on steroids.
