Nail Nick Cut Through - Error or Intentional?

The nail-nick on this blade is cut through; do you think this was intentional or just a rare manufacturing error.  Not having seen this before I'm leaning on the side of error.  This is an older Elinox knife.

Don't know about that one but I have a vintage Camper where there is NO nail nick on the small blade.

Nice sample to show that even Victorinox make mistakes  :D
