How do you store your SAK's
on: October 05, 2011, 10:26:59 AM
Some of us have collections in single figures, some have many more. I have a modest collection, but I do like to keep them in as good a condition as possible, with the exception of an old alox pioneer that is well battered, that is a different story.

Whilst my collection resides in a desk drawer, I have made individual pouches from a piece of red baize felt, this does keep the collection in good condition, did not cost much and only took a short time to sew with the help of a sewing machine. I suppose the only problem might be with a bit of dust from the felt, but al least that causes less damage than moisture.

So how do you keep your collection, in a drawer, a cabinet, or a custom made display case? :tu:

I store most of my SAKs in a small parts cabinet. Works well, but the hard plastic scratches the cellidor scales a bit.
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

I store my SAKs in knifecases/maps.
Easy to show them up and easy to move.
See my alox storage topic; here

I finished refoaming a couple of camera cases yesterday to take mine.

Here's an old picture showing what I mean...

I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

That looks nice, Neil!

Any more pics of those SAKs with bails? Or have you sold those?

Nice one. I'm searching for that kind of sponge for some time now. Would do wonders for my organisation.

I see you're missing some Snifes. Are you planing to complete the collection? I can keep an eye out for them, I saw Crackers, Gems and Waves on eBay in the last two months. The Waves was actually my first SAK ever.

All of mine are in storage in the gun room back home in the USA.   Awaiting my return from Iraq, soon, VERY soon.

They are in the box, if they have a box.  Rest are in pouches, belt pouches, etc.  Some in the sleeve they came in.

All are stored in a clear Rubbermaid container.

When I do get home, I got a Victorinox rotating case (like you see in a store for sale) to display the rare and good ones.   I need to get the rare earth magnets, however, to mount them with.

Its an old pic, I don't have the majority of that lot now.

Special thanks should go to Nuphoria for giving me a ton of plucking foam
