These are my two. They are from the run victorinox did in standard red around 2007/2008. One has seen some use and been relieved of its key ring. The other is new. They have the older 4 line tang stamp.

mmm... red Farmers.   As they say, two is one, one is none!

Here is my pair.  Mine aren't as fun though, b/c they haven't seen any use, and they have the stabby keyring nubs.  ;)

That nubless red farmer is a beauty

I’m not a fan of key ring nubs either. Here’s my silver farmer after its nubdectomy

Not sure if I’ve joined this club, but now it’s official  :ahhh

And I agree about the nub!

I think OC gets a pass when it comes to the nub. Those are just

Yes, it's a Scibeer hard-anodized (type III) Farmer in natural finish.  It's not for those who like their anodized finish to naturally "patina" like the original type II finish.  I've beat the hell out of it and it doesn't show on the scales at all.  This is the only one of my Farmers that I carry.  Well...I have carried others for MTO challenges, but only carefully in a protective leather slipcase.

Scibeer did these in black too, but I never see them here on MTO.

Those are a bit (just a bit) better survivors that my OC Farmer.  Mind you, I didn't pay much for this one thankfully.  :D

Nice one G!  I'd use that one proudly!

I didn't pay much for mine either, but that was 15+ years ago in the SOSAK days.  Times have changed.

Nice one, Gareth!  :like:

I was looking through some of my old posts a few days ago looking for something and found some where I mentioned prices I paid for stuff. It’s amazing how inexpensive they were compared to today.

They have indeed. Glad you got your two before the prices went through the roof.  :salute:

Very nice buddy.  Here's my only other "Farmer" or at least it was before Scibeer got his hands on it.  Way back in 2006 or so when QVC did a run of blue scales and everybody's minds were blown.  :D

Very nice!  That definitely looks like a Scibeer peening job, well done as usual.  ;)

I have one of those blue Farmers as well, unmodified.  It's funny how we used to go crazy over colored ALOX back in those days when anything but silver or red was so rare.  Blue Farmers and Copper Cadets!

Always struck me as funny that it was a shopping channel that kicked the whole thing off.  :D

Edit- also I can't even begin to imagine how many colour variants there are now.

Sure enough!  Mine was packaged in the tin with the 2AA Victorinox flashlight, as mentioned there as well.  That light was made by Innova and had a luxeon emiiter, probably about 30 lumens.  I gave my light away and the tin is long gone.  :-\

That's how my red farmers were.  And the 2006-2007 time frame sounds about right.

It still boggles the mind that a bog-standard red is a special alox color now.  Outside of that limited run of the farmers and pioneers in 2006/2007, I don't think they've made standard red since except now with shop logos on them.

I hadn't given that any thought, but that does indeed boggle the brain!

Since I’m on a thread resurrection roll, let’s bump this one too.

My pair of red farmers from the 2007ish run.

These were some of the first alox I got when I got “into” SAKs for real. My first alox was a 99 dated electrician that I got in 2000 or 2001 for work but just used it and didn’t think about it much. These are now the alox I’ve had the longest. I believe I picked them up in 2009, shortly before joining MTO.  I still have fond memories reading all the SOSAK stuff back then and learning all about SAKs. Felt so lucky to have gotten actual farmers. Felt like I was part of a secret club almost.
