Another dog thread...
on: December 31, 2007, 06:18:07 AM
Ok, I'll admit I'm a softy (i.e. "wuss") when it comes to certain things.  Over the last couple of days, my sister and grandfather have both gotten new dogs.  They got both dogs from the same litter... When my grandfather brought his dog over, he was telling me that he had a hard time leaving the breeder because there was one female left, and felt bad about leaving her behind.  Unfortunately, I got thinking about it, and I felt bad too

So, I'm somewhat happy to announce a new addition to my family.  She's a Papillon and is 15 weeks old.  Her name is... Princess Peach... She's officially my fiance's dog, because I refuse to have a girly dog :D

Now, before you start giving me crap about the name, there is a method to my madness.  In about 6 months or so, I plan on getting a male Saint Bernard.  I'm going to name the Saint "Bowser." :D

Hopefully some of you will get the joke about the names!

She's cute!  My brother had a Papillon once and it was a great dog.  She was intelligent and quiet.

Congrats on the new addition.   My Boston Terrier pup is 13 weeks old today.

I dunno if a saint is a great idea... I'd hate to see the wife's dog crushed in a simple playtime accident.  Saints grow BIG and they grow FAST and they don't know their own strength.

Saints are also born bigger than papillons top out at so I doubt the Princess will get a chance to assert herself early on.

Good luck to all of you with that combination!

I've actually talked to a few people already that have the Saint/Little dog combo, and it's worked pretty well for them...

We reunited the family tonight.  Here's the result...

My sister and fiance are to blame for the outfits...  I absolutely refuse to dress up a dog...

Unfortunately... yes, they are hoods.  The girls didn't want the doggies little heads to get cold...
