Here's a better shot of the three file variations.

Oh man if only you had posted it a bit sooner... OK I could not help it... my OCD kicked in and I spent a couple hours taking it apart and putting it back together.  Luckily I do learn something from these exercises.

Admit it, you're having fun!  :D

When I fool around with the computer I generally learn I should have left well enough alone.  :ahhh

I don't know if I noticed this before, but maybe that's why I buy the same knives again just to rediscover them.  Here these old Wenger Scissors happen to have a maker's stamp which I thought was pretty cool.  On this knife the smal blade, which Wenger marks some times, does not have a stamp.

Interesting. None of my old Wenger scissors have any markings on them. Nice find and great eyes. :tu:

I'm happy, because the knife is great in everyway except the tip of the small blade is broken about 1cm off so it's hard to fix in a nice way.  Still the knife looked good so I thought I better give it a home with friends, this stamp was a nice surprise.  Came with a really good quality long chain too, they just don't make them like the use to.

A couple slightly different Wengers.  A Grafter/Budding knife with a different logo, and a more teal-green Patriot with no logos.

A Wenger Motorist.  I'd really like this model more if it had the small blade rather than the nail file.  It has a nice general tool collection though for a medium+ SAK.

Was told by a jewelry store clerk that the Patriots and Secretaries without logos were sold to jewelry stores for engraving.

I agree, love this model.
Untill now I was able to find three different sub-variants:
1) without the old car logo;
2) with the old car logo embossed/hot stamped (like in the picture above);
3) with the old car logo printed (more recent)

Sorry if it was discussed before (made a search but was not able to find anything).
From the Wenger North America website there are four Realtree Camo Ap Snow listed coming on March 2013
http://www.wengerna.com/realtree-camo
The snow camo pattern looks really nice, in my opinion.
I will probably grab one or two.
Was it old news?

Carlo,

Here are three of the Motorist, two of them with St. Christopher (with and without bail).

Thanks for the heads-up on the Realtree Snow; hadn't seen that before.

Don't suppose Wenger had used diamond files on theirs?

Metal files do not seem to stand up over time, least for me. Though the crosscut files do.
Not had a file on a knife/SAK before, but I prefer the diamond/crosscut on Leatherman tools. Those with metal files I never found much use for.

Nice Snow Camo, I think we saw these in the SHot Show 2013 coverage.  Good to see that they will make it to the market, I will have to get one of the rangers.

It would help if I learned to read. You're talking about WENGER Motorist; I'm showing VICTORINOX Motorist.

No problems, since the Wenger/Victorinox models share the same name they are easy to confuse...plus your pictures are great anyway!

Getting to the point.

Wenger Director with phillips and Manager with corkscrew. Also a small 4-blade model I don't have a name for.

I just found myself this little variant, with red scales and a "CIBA" logo on the back (see attachments).
On the Sakwiki we have an entry for this model
http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Pointer
with the name "Pointer": is that name somehow confirmed?
I think that otherwise we could edit it, as this creates confusion with a completely different knife, but with the very same name.
I'm referring to the model with the "dog" image on the front scales, called "Pointer", catalog 16995.
Karl showed a picture of this model few pages back, and exactly here
Here's a selection of Wenger imprints.

The large knife with a dog is definitely a 'Pointer' (though the dog looks more like a setter).

The small knife is listed in SAKwiki as a 'Pointer', but no model number or other info is given. Wouldn't be the first time Wenger's recycled a name. I'd say go with it until we have different information. I have a black-handled version from 'Mont Terri', a Swiss mineralogy lab.

Maybe should add the 'doggy' Pointer to the wiki. If a better photo is needed let me know.

Nice!
I have one as well that I bought on ebay few months ago.
Mine example was in very good condition apart from the missing magnifying glass.
After some time, I found in a shop some odd replacements parts including a replacement lens which seems made of plastic.
I had to sand it a little on the borders, but was not difficult to install it back on the knife.

I already had the smaller Mike Horn model so I decided to get the proper one too:

Strangley, the serrated blade locks but the main one, does not  ???

The pliers feel as strong/solid as the LM Juice ones. Not heavy duty.

I like the file

Unusual reamer (and solitary).

One of the bits went a bit  ;) further in the sheath and it was a pain to get out. Definitely not easy to get out quickly.
