Limited options on the poll so feel free to explain yourself.  ;)

Personally I just like them for the scratch resistance, I carry a sentinel at work and it's nice to not have to worry about the scales getting all scuffed up.
That said, I think I'd prefer dual density if it were available on more models.

I've only one set of the nylon / economy scales and I removed them straight away s I had a spare plus set - not noticed that they are more scratch resistant. Might try them again.
I wonder if they were re marketed (with the plus scales features) as ultra hard wearing they would sell more.

On nylon SAKs I don't like the way the Victorinox printed shield vanishes over time but that aside I like them.  I do wish they'd inlay the metal shield.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I have a Motorist I got off E-bay recently.

The shield on the scales is worn off.  Garbage.  Those nylon economy scales are ugly.

When the time comes for cleaning and restoration (it is filthy; can barely open the tools), a new set of Celidor red scales will go on it...originality be damned.

I have a few of these and the first time I got one I wasn't to happy with the feel, but have learned to like them. I especially like them on my Outrider, they seem to fit best on these bigger SAKs.

For me it depends on what size of SAK we are talking about.  I have nothing against them on a 108 or 111mm but cannot stand them on a 84 or 91mm SAK.  Weird eh?

I have a skipper with blue nylon scales. I just love the grippy texture they have.

Nylon Classics are kind of hard to find. I am not sure they make them any more. They primarily use Cellidor for Classic scales.
Here is a Nylon Classic.

Here is a Cellidor Emergency Classic.

I like the nylon scales for harder working knives like the Gardener, but like most here I dislike the shield on the nylon scales as they tend to wear off.

does anyone know why the 111mm models traditionally use nylon and the smaller models typically use cellidor? It would be interesting to imagine a cellidor 111mm knife. Does cellidor have some sort of technical limitations for a larger model?

Wondered the same thing myself. I am guessing it might be they tend to crack or break to easily on larger models. The nylon seems to be more flexible. I am not sure if I have ever seen a cracked or broken nylon scale(from normal use).

I like them, especially on the larger models. (Got a couple of the MYV models with them, but those are stored away for "some day".)  I agree that the Dual Density is the best of the lot, love it on my OH Soldier, it's much better than the black nylon on the OHT and the red on the Adventurer.  I was disappointed too on the silver wearing off so quickly from the red, and the printed on shield has worn and faded on the OHT.

I'd made the same guess myself, but until Vic decide to share their R&D results or they actually release some 111mm Cellidor I don't suppose we'll know for sure. :-\  I would love to give them a go though. :tu:

I like it because it feels grippier than cellidor.

Seems like the most common complaint is the shield logo, if only they could just use a metal inlay and make everyone happy.

I like it because it feels grippier than cellidor.

I hadn't considered that before but you're totally right.  :tu:

Also I don't think anyone has yet touched on another plus side of nylon... stayglow.  :)

Good one! Those would be cool with a metal inlay shield 8)

They can crack over time, especially with a few falls.
I have seen 2 skippers with cracked or damaged blue nylon scales, but it happened after years of use.

I'm perfectly happy with either.

I think they are more durable and give a better grip than cellidor. They look ok to but I really prefer cellidor.

I have the safari trooper, whilst I do not have a problem with nylon scales,IMO they are probably more durable, I prefer the aesthetic of cellidor
