He will figure it out soon enough.  He's probably already left on a road trip!

91' Volkswagen Saveiro (first generation).

My ride since... Looong time ago.
 - My dad taught me how to drive in this car.

Never breaks, run fast, stop when needed.
Maintenance is inexpensive.
Carry 500kg when required.

That looks an awful lot like my old Fox (also a 1991 model) but with a bed on the back instead of a trunk!

I wish we could have those here- it looks very cool!

Thanks gentlemans!

This car has been during all those years a big joy. Very fun to drive. And It helped me a lot during my college years!
I've been kept this one along all the other cars during the years. The others go away, she stays... (It's a lady)

The VW Saveiro belongs to the same family of cars of the VW Fox offered for the North American market years ago. Same interior, some changes on mechanics.
It still produced here in their 7th generation.

On the Pic the other ride.
VW UP! TSi, A small pocket rocket.

That looks like a VW El Camino.  :tu:.

It's a shame the only 'small' car VW has left in the states is the GTI  >:(

I used to like VW. My father had 3 different Beetle models. However, since the emission scandal, I've cross them out of my list. I won't be a VW (or related brands) client ever again.

Are you also avoiding all the other brands that have been caught cheating and/or deliberately exceeding emissions ?   :pok:   ;)

These include Fiat/Chrysler, Jeep, Mercedes, GM, Opel (GM), Nissan, Renault, Audi & Porsche (owned by VW), Ford, Honda and several large truck manufacturers (and possibly others that I haven't bothered doing an extensive search for).

Its all nonsense.  I never believe anyway as I tend to never get the advertised fuel mileage.  I'd be happy with 25MPG.

Neither do I. It's worth noting that car and truck manufacturers have deliberately made untrue statements about emissions, efficiency, horsepower, and who knows what else since at least the 1960s.

Yup! No more Porsches, Mercedes or Audis in my garage!

Of the ones you listed, I owned a Fiat but it was ages ago. I believe most (if not awl) of the brands in auto industry (as well in other areas) don't comply with the rules, but the VW was flagrant and spoken about worldwide.

I think the only way to have some influence over those (and other) companies is to avoid their products. I try to do it, even as insignificant as my actions are. Maybe, in time, more people will do the same and it makes a difference.

Here in Cali you pretty much need a vehicle.  Choose reliability first as gas prices always are among the highest in the country.  I've driven Honda since 82 till now I've got both Honda and Toyota.  Cant complain with either and my Toyota gets about 15/16 mpg while my Honda gets 30ish mpg which I am very happy with.

Yup! No more Porsches, Mercedes or Audis in my garage!

I guess Bentleys are off the menu too, but what will you do about all the Bugattis on your current wish list (VW recently sold Bugatti to Rimac) ?   ;)

Then there is the delicate question of what to do about Aston Martin and Pagini (both sell cars with an engine supplied by Mercedes).

Mind you, all these exotic cars cost way more than I am prepared to spend on a car, so all these questions may simply be moot.

I used to have this one: a 1993 F-150. 5.0 (or 302 if you're old-school), 5-speed, and dang near every option Ford would put on one. Rust-free from California, but it did have some custom bodywork done by a horse. Wish I still had it.
