Adding parts to wave
on: December 05, 2011, 02:50:29 AM
So I am thinking this would work on my wave

http://sogknives.com/store/100-442.html

Wire strippers. What do you think? Will it work? Outside or inside. Either is fine by me. Thanks
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Yep SOG parts fit a Leatherman.  The pivot fits, but the locking notch needs to be widened.  Can't put Leatherman parts on a SOG since you'd have to add metal.

I first heard of this from a post here... sec I'll find it..

Has anyone on here made their own awl for the Wave? Take the long bit for the MUT tool, and sharpen one of the sides into a point.... if you're steady handed enough, you can drill a small sewing eye into it also!
Any other ideas????

I think  about build an awl starting from a scissor. The problem is to find a scissor with 1/8" blade thickness. Maybe it exists. You can drill a hole into the scissor blade and cut the metl to fit the leatherman bit holder.
Bye folks!

Gonna bump this back up. I ordered the wire cutters and I want to see if I can get it to work on the outside. So I'll give it go and let you know.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

I'm still thinking on which tool to swap. It's either the serrated blade or the saw. I carry a saw on SAK all the time.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Well after a small delay the tools are on the way. The seller did inform me they would be late so no worries. I'll keep y'all updated.

Well it seems as these tools will not fit :(. But what I am planning will :). I am going to take a Es4 or e4 and remove the wire stripper part, and add it to the removable lanyard ring/clip spot. This will be a better option for me. I can then make a small handle to go opposite the side that connects into the wave.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?
