I saw that yesterday. That's nuts. The fact that the guy skated all the way across the ice is just impressive. It might have saved his life too.

While it was indeed a life threatening injury, the medical staff at the stadium and at the hospital never considered him in danger.  When you have a game like hockey, played with razor sharp blades and constant physical contact, these kinds of things are always a possibility and you have very good medics handy!

If it weren't for them being there, he likely would have died, but with them there to get it under control and the surgeons at the hospital ready for this kind of thing, he was in very little danger really.  Still, he lost a lot of blood (I heard someone estimated it at around 5 liters but I don't know how true that is) and his recovery will take some time.

Leave the dents as they are- let your belongings show their scars as proudly as you do yours.

I remember seeing Malarchuk's, that was a bit worse than this, not very nice at all, glad he's OK.

Five liters of blood is a lot of blood.  I know that the guy got cut really bad but I have seen several liters of blood dumped onto ice and snow and it looks like a lot more than what it actually is.  However, medical professionals usually know what they are talking about and I dont doubt that the guy lost a lot of blood.

Speaking of Hockey, I am watching the Pens and Bruins righ now.  Go Pens. :D

He needs to just walk it off.

On the otherside of this. He was so lucky there was a doc in row 4.
