Another catalog scanned from source material provided by Dan Jacquart, founder and past president of VSAKCS.

Cool.  I have numerous from that era: Huntsman, Fisherman, Salesman, Tinker, Craftsman, Grand Prix, Champion, Farmer, Pioneer (1 ea: with and W/O keyring).  Some are NIB/OS.  Nice to have these old catalogs; good for ID reasons.

+1!

It looks a lot like this one (that I was outbid on): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290644217334. Different cover though. And, interestingly: 5 year guarantee versus lifetime guarantee  :o

Ya I'm hoping that 5 Year vs. Lifetime might help date the brochures.  Some previous speculation was that this happened in the 80s though if I remember correctly.  Could be it was the 70s, which I think would make Vic ahead of Wenger in the change.

ps... you'll see that other catalog on SAKwiki soon.   :)

It certainly could be the 80, there was already a B&W copy of the catalog on SAKwiki from a photocopy that was made by Vincent Tang.  He indicated that it was from the early 80s.

With the color scheme known now, it seemed like it could have been the 70s, but maybe not.

If we could nail down the date they changed to a lifetime warranty that would really help.

Anyone else have any insights into the date of these two brochures?
