Is that a 6 or 7 layer SAK? To get to a tool chest just add pliers?

So this is a Motorist and not a Tool Chest?

The Motorist, also known as the Car Driver and Automobilist (1.39.03)(16947) doesn't have a pliers (11 blades total)( 6 layers).

The Tool Chest, also known as the Car Driver Pro (16905), does have the pliers (12 blades total)(7 layers), as is shown in Sakwiki.

Mine doesn't have the car logo, but was sold to me as a Motorist by the cat man himself ... and he knows WAY more about these things than I ever will, so I'll sit back and await more details and confirmation/correction from our resident gurus

EDIT: One turned up  :salute:  :D :D :D

I have pictures of the Motorist both with and without a car on the handle. The two pictures I have of a Tool Chest both show a car, which is not claim there aren't other versions.

The picture it straight from the catalog and is clearly labeled so I'd have to go with 6 layers (not to say it never changed at some time).  Karl's information that the Tool Chest was also known as the Car & Drive Pro may be the reason behind some of the confusion.  I'm no expert on Wenger, but when there is catalog data to go by that's where I start.  Wiki will be changed in seconds.

Whatever name mine originally had, it's a great little tool - and the pliers are nice to have too  :tu:

Ya if you're working on a vehicle I would think pliers would be mandatory. maybe that's what inspired them to make the pliers, there were a quite late evolution in SAKs relatively speaking.
