EDCF Store (jsburlys.com) UK group buy?
on: December 14, 2011, 11:53:42 PM
I'm going to be buying some McGizmo clips for lanyards from http://www.jsburlys.com as it works out cheaper than any other option for me in the UK.

Anyone interested in a group buy to spread the shipping cost ($14)? They have some nice shinys there :pok:

edit: removed a bit which didn't make any sense.

Drat, i put an order in for some clips as well as a few of their exclusive items just the other week.
Strangely the site would only let me order 5 of the 20mm clips and just 2 of the 25mm and 32mm clips.
I needed quite a few of the 20mm clips so i made up the difference using an american ebay seller, worked out to be a similar price per clip as well.
Pictures of most of my work can be found on my Facebook Page.
Also have a look at my Shapeways Shop and SW Torch Shop for 3D printed items.

Ah well, no worries :)

I'll leave this thread till Monday to see if anyone wants to split it with me and then I'll just put an order in. The postage isn't too much.

I'd be up for that. Wouldn't mind getting a couple of P7 clips and a few other items.

I've seen somethings tha are very nice.

I don't wish to burst your bubble, but you may wish to think about what to do if you incure customs charges?

http://www.jsburlys.com is actually the forum store of EDCForums.com. And if I remember correctly Jon (edcf owner) had a flat rate for international shipping of $10. You could PM Jon and figure out a more affordable shipping for you. While I hate redirecting people from the forum store there is also a cheaper way of ordering TEC Accessories directly from the maker.
At http://www.tecaccessories.com/products/category.php?CA=7
Shipping to the UK for one P7 clip is $4.46 from there.

Ooh, that actually looks really good. I didn't know that McGizmo clips were made by TEC accessories, I only knew them by the name McGizmo. I knew jsburlys was the EDCF store though :)

Good point, I hadn't really considered that. I guess we'd agree to split any charges if they occurred.

I've decided to go with another option and get a couple of the (much cheaper) TEC snap gates from edcgear.co.uk instead and see if they'll do the job.

Bearpark: They sell the P7 from there too: www.edcgear.co.uk/prodcat.asp?Cat=keychaincarry

They're not, TEC are just a distributor. And the TEC snap gates won't take 550 cord so it's McGizmo or nothing for me.

I've just ordered a couple from survivaldepot.co.uk because they're actually the cheapest I can find once you factor in shipping and possible customs charges. Not really super happy about having to pay £3.80 per unit (£4.30 once I add shipping) but it meant my total cost was reduced.

But, I spent far too many hours looking at the various suppliers and working out shipping and customs and per unit costs and blah blah blah. Far better to just buy it and if it's 50p extra per unit who cares. Must learn this.  :tu:
