Just saw this on ebay
Fenix MC10 Clone
says it takes both AA and 14500 and has a magnetic base, £6.98 delivered
I wonder how it would compare with the real MC10

Agreed. The same design and proportions, but doesn't look like it actually uses any of the same parts s the Fenix. If it looked like it had the same switch button, bezel design, etc. I'd say it might be worth a shot because perhaps the factory that's making the MC10's for Fenix is putting out a generic version, but this one doesn't even look like that. I'd pass.

Seeing as a Cree Q5 drop in module is about £5 it might be worth getting one to play with, and if it is junk just strip it for parts.

If one of you real flashlight guys would post an EASY to use guide on how to do a emitter drop in conversion (like into a mini Maglite head), I'd get one and do a direct head to head.
