Thanks.  Feels chubbier in hand vs Skeletool .  I'll stick with the Skeletool personally.

S30V blade in it might be cool.  I just really like that bit holder tho.

Why did they stop making this model?

So they can bring the MiniTool back years later, as a limited edition, and charge $200 for them at some point. Like the PST. :D

Great score! I was giddy when I found my 1995 version and sheath (in well-used condition) for $15. At least yours has the hard wire notch, mine precedes that by at least a year. A lot of people seem to dislike the blade, but I do. Great for detail work.

I could see them bringing it back, but it does need some changes. The openers are useless, I've tried them both and they sucked. And the file's screwdriver tip will not fit the ever-present Phillips screw.  Maybe replace it with a modified version (shorter, cross-cut, and using thicker stock, but the same tip) of the Style file?  And of course, a Rebar plier head.

Some good ideas cody. It’s such a useful size and there’s room for improvements given the advances over the last couple decades.  :tu:

Picked up this 2003 Wave from the same seller as the Mini Tool.  :woohoo:

Non-locking 1st gen model. Build quality is excellent. Wave still rocks 15+ years later!

Every time I pick up my mini I ask this question..without a doubt the biggest  I have about Leatherman. This tool is literally perfection. Its size and capabilities put it in a category of its own. Not to mention the overly strong clip point blade which is amazing for chip cutting wood.

If I was ever to become a collector...the mini is what I would collect.
