Mine also had a poor gluing job and scales that were not flat on the back to fit flush on the liners.  The dealer ("one of us" I believe) exchanged it for a very nice one.
The work takes on a life unplanned

The price of these seems to have gone down.

The bad reports pretty much trashed my sales so I dropped my prices to my cost. The ones I have are not perfect but not bad either. I would  (and do every day) carry one.

Wow I didn't know that. I can't find anything wrong with the one you sold me.

I like the new price... maybe I need one more.

I've been meaning to update the Wiki, but I've heard that there have been quite a few production issues with these. Some are kind of natural to my mind but some interpret the same thing such un uneven thickness as an undesirable cosmetic issue.  The glue and the structural cracks I take more seriously.  Apparantly this is something that Victorinox USA dreamed up (nice dream), but they had a third-party put them together, and they were not approved by Victorinox Switzerland.  Can anyone confirm any of this information?

I REALLY like these, it's a shame that they were not up to the regular Vic standards in terms of the scales since they were a very premium price.

I have sold 16 with no complaints or returns but there has been a buzz about others purchased elsewhere so I had to drop my price in order to sell. I stand behind anything I sell 100% so anyone not happy just let me know, no problem.

I bought 3.  Two are perfect but one had minor glue issues.   It's my EDC and has no functional problems but i can understand how a pure collector would be unhappy about it.

That said:  it is a fantastic knife in its own right.

That's a really nice one!  I love the scales that have a lot of character.  :)

I think so too, and no cracks whatsoever  :)

Edit: the nailnick on the file is a bit covered, as the scales are left little oversized all around.

I love the grain in the first photo.  It gives texture even though the scale is smooth!  Very nice example! :)

Beautiful sand color, love the smooth look.
I hope you can fix the cracking, bad luck mate, I'm really sorry to see that.

I'm used to the thin stainless, the tusk is nice handfilling.

No Mammoths were harmed in the making of these scales...
