Lumintop Tool AA 2.0

(Image removed from quote.)

I like it a lot. Using a 14500 it is seriously bright  :)

Funny thing is when you using a 14500 the clicky glows blue but it doesn't when using a NIMH battery

(Image removed from quote.)

I've only had it for a day but it will definitely enter the flashlight rotation.

I love my Lumintop Tool AA v2.
As for the button light when using 14500 I can confirm that. The voltage for the electronic to do that must be high enough.

I do mechanically lock out the light by loosening the head when not in use. That does switch off the button light and safes power.

I use it fairly regularly to charge glow-in-the-dark items. I use the red light a lot.

I've been EDCing one of those for 2-3 months now and I love it. I use the tail cap indicator to see if I locked it out so it doesn't turn on accidentally. :)

Thanks and great tip on the lock out. For day to day, and getting up in the middle of the night, I really like the glow, but is def a parasitic waste over the long term.

Funny thing is when you using a 14500 the clicky glows blue but it doesn't when using a NIMH battery

Switch glow is usually made with a simple LED+resistor without any (boost) transformer,
- NiMH batteries are under the forward voltage of the LED+resistor, so no current can flow through the diode
- Li-ion batteries are above that forward voltage, making the diode glow as the current flows through it :)

:dunno: Put in a fresh 14500 and no tail glow.  Not a big deal as the light is terrific and the tail glow is not something I missed.  I do like the rubber glow diffuser they give.  Makes for a nice lantern.

:iagree:.  I love that diffuser so I keep it on full time.  I didn't know the tail glowed so no loss for me.  Neat but not a critical or needed feature.

Its such a great light!

The Tool is one of the best AA flashlights I have tried.

I love my old regular Tool Vn and saw he has a Ti one now. How do you like it so far? What options did you go with??

Sorry for the late reply. The Tool Vn runs on a 10440 IMR. I had Vinh install a Nichia 219b 4500K. As you probably know, it is fully programmable (20 configuration I think). I am using a 6 step option which gives me 3 lowish outputs and 3 high outputs. Maybe 3-5 lumens to over 500 estimated. I like the single metal version without the brass rings too. I added the Prometheus clip.
Most recent is the new Nitecore TINI2 which is crazy with output (500 lumens) and technology. The screen gives output mode and time remaining as well as battery voltage. Full 2-stage lockout and no delayed turn on.

Just got 2 new Fenix PD32 V2, they will replace my 2 PD32 2016 model.

The PD32 are my most used lights, one resides in my work bag, the other as my EDC. Not a fan of pocket clips, so have removed from both.

I just got a NEBO Anglelight AA after Christmas and not happy with it. I turned it on a couple times and it already seemed to burn out!

Nice addition.  I like Fenix lights and have a few, but I do not have the PD32.

Olight recently had another free light, this time, NOT an i3EOS (seriously, I have a ton already--I mostly give them away). This time, it was a light I really wanted to try--the i3TEOS.  The i5T is a little bit too large for a pocket flashlight, and heads keep coming unscrewed in my pocket on the i3EOS.   And, the i3EOS was only one setting (too bright for most indoor stuff), and the i5T's low is a little high output. But, the i3TEOS's 130 lumens on high/5 low is just the settings I want. 5 for most indoor jobs, 130 for farm work at night.  And, not a PITA  to cycle through like the S1R Baton II. This will, for sure, be my new EDC light.

I'm a really big Desert Tan fan too. I like the bronze-ish color they are. I have an i3EOS in use, as well as an I1R 2 that I haven't even opened yet (saving it for the day my original first-run I1R croaks, as I already have a silver I1R2 in use).

On another note, I've basically done every free light offer Olight seems to do. Most of the Olights I actually use were free lights or bought to get a free light. Probably why, despite the fact I prefer Maglite, I have probably 3-4 times the Olights as I do Maglites.

Nice addition Cody.

If USPS ever delivers mine, a Peak Logan 17500 will be my latest flashlight.

Not really carried any of those small Nitecores since every single one turns on in my pocket no matter what I do and they are always dead when I need them!

Tiki needs a very quick double click to turn on (or long, sustained press for turbo).  Not once had it run flat in my pocket.  Not yet anyway.  :D

This year I have moved away from olight due to their customised batteries and started replacing them with fenix.

Over the last few months I have bought.
PD40rv2
PD36r
E28r
E20v2
E18r
And several E01v2’s for mr many bunches of keys.

Really pleased I did this after olight stopped supplying the customised batteries for four of the seven torches I bought in 2017.

This will not be a problem with the fenix. :tu:
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

Trust me they will always turn on in my pocket.

I’ve had the problem with a couple of keychain lights.

I have not had an issue with the Tiki or RovyVon Aurora.  Both require a double-click to turn on, which seems to work at least for me.
