My Nailbender low voltage module came in the mail today.  I've already popped it into my L2R with a couple of Eneloops.  It's a lot whiter than I had expected for an HCRI emitter.  It's labelled as a 5B tint bin, but looks more like a 5A.  It's quite dramatic compared to my Lumens Factory HCRI XPG drop-in.  In either case, it's definitely a neutral tint, rather than a warm tint, which is notable because up until now, IIRC Cree has only been making warm tint HCRI emitters.  It seems they're now making neutral tint ones to compete with the Rebels and 219s being made by Nichia.

No pics of beam shots for now.  I'm not really set up for beam shots, but I'll see what I can do.  The hotspot in the Nailbender module is much less focused than the LF module, which is fine by me actually, as the L2R is a smaller light and will see more EDC type duty than my L2Xe, particularly now that I can run it on Eneloops or L91s.

If anyone is interested, I'll start another thread with my overall impressions and thoughts about the module, including some comparison to the LF drop-in.

My newest is a Streamlight Strion and a basket weave case. Great output for a small flashlight.

Damnit, why am I posting in this thread again?  >:(  :P  Two of my latest, a 4Sevens Quark 123 Tactical and a Fenix P3D, which came along with a Maxpedition sheath. I haven't used the Quark much, but the Fenix was the champ for the last two nights without power after the recent hurricane.  :tu:  Both lights are clickys.  The Fenix has 6 functions.  At its "turbo" setting it throws a LOT of light out, bright enough to actually light up my bedroom enough to read by!  Obviously I didn't keep it set like that, but pretty cool.  The arrival of the P3D allowed me to gift my L2S to my housemate, who was relying on an old AA Maglite during the power outage.  No comparison between those two!  The Quark I'm going to have to take to work a bit I think and try it out in the garage and basement, where a good light is essential.  The pocket clip and compact size make it ideal for this duty.

There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

Saw a great deal on one of these Icon Rogue2 LED lights, wasn't sure how I would like it but for $12 shipped I couldn't pass it up. I have to say I am impressed with it, nice bright beam with a low setting that is low enough for most night usage. It is a 2AA light and some reviews have complained it is on the large size for 2AA, I think it is fine for anything short of pocket carry. Even the odd green anodizing looks better in person than in the picture. Seems like a sturdy light that I will be carrying in my backpack. Comes with a nice lanyard as well.

How do you like the Tank? I see it's working now after a clean up. Did you try using it outside. It's quite a thrower for an AAA on a fresh battery.

Yeah, seems to be working so far, although I'use the Olights more. I tried the Tank outside the balcony and I can say it definitely throws as far as my Fenix E11, which uses an AA battery... that's my only basis for comparison- I mean, those are the farthest throwing lights I have. I didn't believe the light would go as far as it reads in the specs: 80m, but it definitely does. That's amazing for one tiny guy like this. When I shook the light sth rattled inside, though, lol.  Then I took off he cap and with a paperclip tried to reach the... two tiny holes down there... and screw that thing a little... I think it worked... and now it doesn't rattle.. (no idea if you're getting what I'm saying, but I don't know how to say it better, lol). I like its simplicity. Though my Olights are indispensable, sometimes I do wish to be able to reach the highest mode with just one twist/click and that's where the Tank comes :D In general, I'm not picky and there's hardly a flashlight I wouldn't like so it may not be that special for most flashaholics, but I like it :D

My Zebra H502d from Travis arrived on Wednesday.  Just as with all my other ZL's, it's a great little light.  It's my first true full flood headlamp, and only my second full flood torch (I also have one of the little Romisen flood-to-throw zoomable lights).

I've been goofing around with it since I got it, trying it out for different things.  The width of the beam profile is amazing, a full 120º.   :o  It gives better peripheral vision than any other headlamp I've got, even my Spark with the full frosted lens.

The tint is very nice too.  I thought I might find it too cool for my tastes, as it's advertised as being about 5,000K.  The output of the emitter in my sample looks closer to 4,500K though; it's closer to the 4,200K emitter in my H51w than it is to the 5,000K XML in my Jetbeam PA40.

Once I've had a few more chances to make use of it, I'll post a short review of it for consideration for the main site if Def is interested in posting a torch review, and I'll do a more in depth write up and comparison of it with my H51w and my Spark ST5-190nw.

It will be a Solarforce L2N, with a M3 head, with a custom XP-G2 pill.

Should be a good little thrower.

Thanks to N_N_R's Tank007 thread I've decided that I don't have enough 1xAAA clicky lights.

With that in mind I've had a quick browse of DX and have come up with these three to try: Richuang RC-7001, MXDL XT-7119 and Random light that doesn't seen to deserve it's own name. ;)  As you can tell I do feel a pocket clip is essential for the way I use/carry my lights.

Several PALight "survival" lights.  These run on the little 9V batteries that go in smoke alarms.  Have an always-on locator glow, plus low, medium (not bright enough to rate as a real "Hi" by my standards), and a flashing beacon mode.  They make a great power-failure light.

I give them away, hence buying in bulk.

I've just received a cheap generic flashlight from a friend :D It isn't waterproof or anything, but I like the appearance :D It's a AAA clicky and has a pocket clip. Can't wait for the evening to test it out :D So far I've only compared it with the Olight i3 at the wall and it seems to be as bright as the Olight's 20-lumen mode... so my guess is it's about that brighness. It reminds me a little of the 4Sevens Preon 1, although this would be blasphemy to say... :X :D

The new L2N looks pretty sweet...

I've got my sights on a gray P1 and a Nailbender HCRI XML module for a bike light.  The P1 is only 65 grams!  :o  A full oz. lighter than an L2p or L2m!  I know that doesn't seem like much, but I'm going to helmet mount it, and I really can feel the extra weight.

Not a light per say, but I'm making a triple xpg r5 to go in my surefire e1. All the parts are in, now just waiting on the solder paste so I reflow the LEDs to the pcb. Should put out around 850-900 lumens :).

Latest is a Led Lenser P17.  Perfect for outdoor work and such around here because we do not have street lights and are not allowed to have outdoor mounted lights over so much power(because of sea turtles)

I also have got 2 more Nebo Redlines-  I use these on my Kayak, Bike and Canoe and have them in various drybags.  They are a good light for the price and I do not get too worked up if I break one.  The local paddle shop sells them for 20 or so
