I admit I didn't read the whole thread but is there any mention of an MTO realtime chat / IRC?

We had that in the past- initially as a part of the forum, then as an outside service after an update broke the original.  It wasn't terribly successful, especially not after the update when it became too much of a complicated pain in the arse for most folks to use.

I'd kind of thought about a Shout Box, but again I'm not sure how much use it would really get.  I have also thought about starting up a Google Plus Hangout from time to time to see if there's anyone interested in real time chat.

We had a toopic about that some time ago and decided on the facebook group chat. There was a lot of chat'ers in the begining, but it's a bit quiet now.

Def, I'll post a l'll post a link when I get home.

How about community reviews for the site. So when a tool gets reviewed we start a thread so every one can add there thoughts on the tool at hand. This might speed up the review process and make it a all round decision. I fink that would be fun and would like to take part in a mass review with everyone

I'm not certain I can answer that as I'm not certain what Buffs is (are?).

This video should make everything clearer. A multifunctional merchandise you can get in different patterns (even a forum logo). I have 3 of them and another one on the way I won on EDCF from a friend. It's my favourite winter edc item.

Regarding smilies, I keep a stash at http://knifewallpapers.com/smilies which anyone is welcome to use on any forum, or if you want to integrate them into MTO that's fine too.

Fish and Chips once a month
A dedicated thread or section to the creator Tim Leatherman, with ideas, suggestions and improvements, that sort of thing. This stuff gets discussed and some ideas have been used, could expand it to other makes, possibly make an invitation to these companies for Q&A session, anyway just rambling :P PayPal donation button, see these all the time, no minimum amount, just what you can afford, funds could be used for all sorts of things  this sort of thread is why this is an awesome forum :tu:

for bikers buffs are great for filling that little gap between the helmet and collar.

I really like the idea of a 'suggestions to the manufactures' sub forum, it's easy for great ideas to be lost in all the other infomation on this site and however much the makers try to keep up with customer demands and suggestions it's close to impossible as there arn't enough hours in the day to find it all.

Better late than never.

I'd be interested in a MT.O buff; while I like that EDCF has one, I don't really participate over there that much anymore. :/  Besides, the ones for here would be coming from a whole three hours away, via Travis. :D

I like the idea of a paypal donate button as well.  It would allow random donations and probably help a bit.  I know that sometimes(not too often though) I get a few extra bucks that I could give without necessarily needing to get merchandise in return.

Someone had posted about a larger file for uploading photos.  I'd like to credit that person for the suggestion, but it didn't jump out at me during a quick run through this thread.

Initially we only had so much space available to us, and for the first few months we ran this site and SOSAKOnline together, we were constantly upgrading.  That's not the case anymore, but the picture size setting was a bit of a hold back.  Not any more.

You are still limited to 4 pictures per post, but now each of those pictures can now be up to 1mb instead of the old 128k.  This is just an arbitrary limit and may be subject to change if more tweaking is necessary, but it seems to me that's a good place to start.

I'd really like a possibility to mark a forum as read without entering it. I.e. on the list of (sub-)forums on forum.multitool.org, each subforum had a little button with "mark as read" (the same as inside each of these subforums). My use case is that I sometimes have little time, and I want to cherrypick what I read. Then I could quickly mark the forums which hold the least interest for me at that moment as read, and then jump back to "Show unread posts since last visit."

If there's an easy way to do this already and I just missed it, I'd be happy if someone pointed it out to me.

Another possibility could of course be Bladeforums model where you only follow specific forums, but I sort of like this place where the default is you look at everything. Makes the place feel friendlier.

Which brings me to the next wish: Show the list of all unread threads in a single huge page. The same as what "Show unread posts since last visit." does today, but everything on a single page. I like open a bunch of tabs, and then read everything which interests me afterwards, as opposed to opening a thread, read, post, return to list, repeat.

Just my $ .02.

Just click "Show unread posts since last visit".  Once you have checked out the whole forum(a daunting task) it will show everything you haven't viewed even if you haven't posted in it.
