Toothpick and tweezers
on: January 01, 2012, 03:40:46 AM
I found I'm needing my t&t. I don't want to carry anymore than I already do. I like SAK t&t. I edc my black Alox mod and BO LM wave. Any suggestions?
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

you know the best answer, but its not the easiest.  Milling slots in the alox scales!
PM me or email sakmodder [at] gmail . com if you are looking for custom SAK work.

That's not easy. Milling is not the problem however. It's adding another liner or two, and making sure everything fits correctly. I may just add the t&t to my black alox 58mm mod I'm building.

Maybe replace a liner with a copy of a firesteel liner or something similar, and attach them to the bottom of the SAK? if you place them flat against the bottom of the backsprings, you'd hardly add anything to the size, even if covered somehow.
Computer trouble? PM me and I'll see what I can do!

Tiny as they are if you made a small stand alone T&T holder it would be fairly unnoticed on your key chain until you needed them. The 58mm T&T without the slanted radius should be easy to adapt. I have dozens from brass and ti 58mm mods. I just toss the tweezers in a bin and use the toothpicks for mixing epoxy.

If you like paracord you could fasion some simple stick like holder apparatus and tie it up in a short cobra stitch key fob like those guys do with fire steels. Or just slip a pair under the insoles of your shoes. You'll never feel them and they'll always be there if you need them.
