Nope, my 'EDC' is always variable.  Everything is open to change depending on my needs/whims.

Almost the same for me. My phone and wallet are about the only constants. Watch, knife, light and tools all subject to change.

Or sometimes its this:

Nice Ruger  :tu:

I had an SP101 until I traded it on an LCR.  The LCR's trigger was much easier for the wife to use.

For me, I think I have consistently carried:

1) keys
2) Wallet (with duct tape wrapped around a card)
3) Cell phone
4) Vic Manager (I've used the pen quite a bit on this one and replaced the tweezers with toothpick)
5) Fenix E01
6) Home made pry bar wrapped in paracord
7) County Comm tweezers
8) cheap $1 Harbor Freight aluminum whistle

Then, some form of SAK or leatherman or both making sure I have at least one OH blade on me. Currently Kershaw crown because it's pretty decent overall and I don't feel bad if I lend it out to someone since it only cost $10.  (A scout is thrifty)

my core EDC set, unchanged for about a year, is:

Victorinox alox classic SD (on keyring)

Victorinox escort (on keyring)

Fenix E01 (on keyring)

wallet with £15 kept separately to the rest of my money

... that's it.

Last few days I've been carrying an altoids (M&S) tin with a resuscitation mask, some plasters, a vic Farmer, black thread reel with needles, a mishmetal firesteel and some cotton wool to pad it out. I'd like to add it to my core EDC but unless I find it useful day-to-day I know it'll end up in a drawer. I'll post pics and further thoughts when it's a bit more developed.

how comes £15?

My Permanent EDC   PEDC  :D

Is Keys and my LM Micra, though now I am trying the Victorinox Manager.

Wallet/phone knife etc can change depending on where I am going, for how long, for what reason, what clothes I am wearing etc.

I have had a CT41 and spirit in my bag with me since I bought them 18 months ago.
The keychain tools have had an alox classic and Arc AAA for around a year. Only the pocketknife I carry with me varies. out of all that it is the Arc that gets used the most.

I agree that EDC is an over used term, and i would suggest it is time for a new word/words to describe our activity.

Anyway for now this is what i carry every day (CED !!).

Victorinox Officer
Maglight Solitare
Aluminium Capsule with my much needed every day (MNED !!!) cocodamol pain killers.

All the above on one of my own made Paracord lanyards.

Also carry:
Wrist watch (CWC G10)
Paracord bracelet (home made by me)

True EDC. Hm...

My Aunts and Uncles Matt Wallet
a lighter and smokes
my Casio wrissmurfch
my glasses!
Nokia Lumia 800 phone
keys with Gerber Curve and Shard, True Utility key tool and Fenix E01

all other items vary. I always have a knife, most often a SAK and an additional folder. Almost everyday I carry some multitool. I often carry a LED light, my Kaweco Sport fountain pen or a Zebra F301, F701. But, all of these items change quite often, so no real EDC here.

This is my lineup every time I leave the house, and has been since October. (When I got the knife.)

The only exceptions are the wallet, which I just replaced because it started coming apart, and the watch, which I wear most days but not all.

I agree that EDC by definition refers to the things you actually carry on your person every day.  I don't think that it has to be the exact same item every day, but the same category of items should be the same every day.  That's whey there EDC starts with an E.  Mine rarely changes because I have found that my current set up serves me very well day to day.

LM CS4 with P7 Suspension clip
Uncle Bills Tweezers
iTP A3 EOS Upgraded
Titanium Spike
Extremely small brass pill fob
Keys
BlackBerry Bold in an Otterbox Defender
Wallet
Eye glassed (not possible to leave home without them)
Wedding Ring
Tungsten Carbide Ring
Pen

If in included everything that was nearby daily the list would be much longer.  I am in sales so I am in an out of my car all day long.  There is a toolbox in my car packed with stuff that I won't list here  because I don't carry that stuff on my person.

I am in no way trying to criticize those people who have a definition of EDC that differs from mine.  This is just how I see it.   It is very interesting to see what others define as EDC and I am amazed at the collection of stuff that some people have to choose from when they customize their EDC to a particular day's anticipated needs.

OK, my "true" EDC item(s), as opposed to my "false" EDC (if you have one, I guess that means you must also have the other)--my Wolverine MultiShox. I never leave home without 'em. I have one pair in brown and one in black:

the Vic Compact replaces the Climber+ swiped by a former coworker(i carried a Minichamp in the interim), sometimes i'm out of candy, and obviously the lighter gets replaced/re-taped periodically, but otherwise this setup has gone mostly unchanged for about six months.
