Still think the Wave is a more sensible option then the Bling bling Chavy Charge  >:D

Bottom line, the Charge is cooler  8) and you know it!  :D

What like a Gucci handbag opposed to one off the market

So let me get this straight:

Charge=Gucci

Wave= Cheap illegal knockoff of a real tool.

Is that about it? >:D

I feel like in order to make an informed decision, I'd have to have tried them all.   :pok:   :pok:

I'll PM my address.  I'll be waiting by the mailbox.    :mail:

thanks!   :gimme:

Brutus - I guess you will not get this message because you are outside by the mailbox!  I sent them all to you and hopefully you can get all of them "tried" before the end of the Poll.

Stopped in for a quick email check and what do I see?  There are some multis coming my way to test.  Back out to the mailbox it is then.   :mail:

The edit to the title of this thread was not done by me.  One of the people with moderator power must of thought it was necessary to add the "unofficial" to the title.

What is official or unofficial?  Is there a sanctioning body for these type of surveys?

In answer to your question though, we do have "Official" Multitool.org things like the Multitool.org Multitool Of The Year.  A lot of thought, research and discussion goes into these before they are posted as we try to make sure all bases are covered- or at least as many as we can possibly think of.  As such, there is indeed a sanctioning body for what passes as "Official" here at Multitool.org.  While members are encouraged to use all of the site's features to their heart's content, we do try to reserve "Official" things for anything that's actually been made "Official."

I'll refrain from commenting on this particular instance until I have more information though.

Wasn't me mate ...

A) I have no moderator power

B) The thread title didn't become the "My vain attempt at proving the Best Multi-Tool In The World 2011 Edition was what I would said it would be and which by the way I've rigged by leaving out tons of stuff that folks might think is better than the one I'm routing for and lumping mine together with all other possible variations on a similar theme to purposefully collect votes for tools other than the one I'm argueing is the best in the other thread just in case for some unearthly reason the one I'm championing about doesn't have as big a runaway victory as I thought it would and I look slightly silly about it all afterwards" thread   :pok: :pok: >:D  :D :D :D

Grant,

If your sanctioning an unofficial poll. Then shouldn't it be called,  "The Official, "unofficial" Best Multi-Tool in the World 2011 Edition?

Hi Al,

First and foremost you almost got the logic behind the title correct.  You forgot the loosely veiled attempt part.

And since you are declining, abstaining or just not voting the results will be less than perfect, tainted if you will.

I am sorry that I omitted your contender as best tool but not too many people have a rusty dirty early Schrade tool with a chipped blade and broken locks.  You second suggestion for the business tool was interesting in that the tool does put punch holes in paper and they are round.

Bruce

Bruce is lumping Wave votes in with Charge  ;)

... well that wasn't what I actually think of as my favourite multi-purpose tool ... but you're suggestions are more forum friendly so we'll go with that ... >:D

I understand where your coming from as I`m more of a Supertool type. I carry a ST300 at work almost every day. But the TTi is the best all around MT out there. It really doesn't have any serious competition.    :)
What? Enablers! Are you serrrrious? Where? I dont see any.

The only tool I really like on the PowerLock is the pliers. :-\  All the other tools are a hassle to get to, due to the covers, and they're not as "heavy duty" as their Leatherman equivalents.

I'd agree. The onboard tools are OK but not great, but the pliers are excellent.
Mine's part of the car kit (I put the SOG wire strippers in too in place of the scissors)

:tu:
If I want to cut something tough I usually go with the Powerlock.
The problem with the tools is that they are designed to fit various Sog pliers tools of various sizes, so you end up with a compromise in the size and strength of each tool.
The pliers, however are designed for each specific multitool size, so they are big on big SOGs (or paladins) and smaller on small ones
