Hi folks,

Just signed up to have a look around. I see another canadian in here. I love gadgets and that's what got me into my first a Leatherman skeletool Cx. Love it. I also bought a SOG power assist that's alot bigger than I thought wish I had got a wave....

I'm in North End Halifax, near where the New Bridge lands on the HFX side.

I started this site about 5 and a half years ago when I realized this was a market no one else was into.  I figured it was either a stroke of genius that I thought of it, or, more realistically, such a messed up idea that no one else wanted to!

ill laugh if you to are neighbours  :D

Entirely possible- it's not that big a city!

When I bother to use oil, I use regular old fashioned mineral oil.  I've tried different oils and to be honest, few work better and most cost more.  I try not to use oil if I can avoid it because it can congeal in the pivot points and trap pocket link and dust, eventually acting like a glue and holding your knife or tool closed.

You can also use powdered graphite, available at any lock or hardware shop.  It's a dry lubricant and works well without attracting crud.

BTW, just a heads up for a new guy, Halifax Seed Co in the Hydrostone carried Leatherman tools... you know... in case you needed any!  :D

Me either- I had spider mites on a tomato plant and went there for a cure and saw their Leatherman display.  I haven't been there in a while, so they may not still have them, but if you are in the area there's a nice little fishing shop behind the Royal Bank on Agricola near Young.
