English kit

The knife and pliers are English made so I'm guessing it all is.  That's about all I know about it  :)

I think George Ibberson have done kits like that before, possibly John Nowill too. Both Sheffield manufacturers. More likely to be Ibberson though. The knife, sheath and marlin spike would prob be made there and the pliers sourced locally

Don't know for sure, but looks like something a lineman would use on telephone poles, that center spike might be driven into the pole for a foot hold,or to hang something on,all together its a neat setup. :salute:

It's definitely a marlin spike and shackle key and rigging knife. It's just not often you see a set with pliers

There's some here .... http://www.sailing-knives.com/acatalog/Ibberson_sailing_knives.html

I think Kabar also made a kit very similar to that, only with dual-headed pliers; I'll take a look and get a picture taken of it - I know the Kabar kits also had the shackle key and the same-shaped fixed blade.

Beautiful sheath. :)

[Edit:]
I still don't know how all the pieces quite fit together.

... the captcha was "hot diggity dog" o.O

Yes they are funky. :D

SMKW has both of those sets in a display case on one of their walls, too, which was interesting to see.
