I suspected it since I read the previous Bear Jaws review, and that new one has absolutely confirmed it.

the Bahco Multitool is without a doubt a GI Beartool.

Same handle shape and noticable weight, identical Blades, small spring on the Plierheads. Mine has 2.5mm Socket head bolts.

The main thing that identifies it as a fake is the rubbish Phillips screwdriver.

I was previously tentatively in the market for a BearJaws, it is now official.

If the GI is this good, the real thing must be amazing.

(The only downside I've noticed with my tool, is that outside opening blades with no lock are a liability, since there is not even the opposite handle to slow descent of a knifey into your soft squishy fingers.)

I dunno- the backsprings on mine seem pretty sturdy.  Too sturdy in fact.  It's actually a little difficult to fold safely IMHO.

I am looking forward to grabbing one of the locking models in the new year.
