Skinth for Steve, double bit kit pockets
on: January 07, 2012, 11:41:49 PM
Tatoosteve99 wanted a sheath to hold a BO Wave, a Fenix e01, 2 bit kit cards and the bit extender. I modified my Skinth+ designa bit and adding a pocket in the main tool section and donezo.

I doubled up on the belt loop..why? I don't know, I felt like it.

Added a key loop on the bottom for..um...keys.

you know what...

After having tools in it for the afternoon, I am not satisfied with how deep the flashlight and bit extender sit. i am going to make another one..better..faster...stronger!

you wish my friend haha.

I finished it, looking good! I took out the back pocket and made a larger front pocket so there is less bulge and sits on the belt nice and flush.

i also made a "tactical multitool pillow" haha, basically a little pillow that sits at the bottom of the pouch so the Wave sits higher up in the pouch and also when the inevitability that you'll one day own a Surge, it'll be ready to grow with you.

Hey do you think there's extra room in there for "other" goodies? Like a pen or maybe my mod es4?

You can stuff whatever you want in it :). There's a little bit of room next to the tool.

If you take the pillow out there is tones of room. You'll see when you get it.

I might make a custom kydex insert to fit my MTO removable saw, wave, and a few compartments that are hidden :)

Yes. So far it's perfect! I will however add some kydex to the inside but not because it don't work just because I can. And I don't want pokey things going through my fantabulous sheath! I will be reviewing soon.

So now comes the kydex inner part. There's enough room for several hidden type compartments. Right now the multi kinda flops around from side to side but that's the way I wanted it as to have room for more tools or a larger multi. On another note I would have like a bigger piece of Velcro on the front flap. It's a little small 1/2 wide and I'm kinda worried that it might come undone and the tool fall out. This might have been an oversight on Metro as it's really not a big deal for me fix. Also the rest of the sheaths I've seen him make already has this. Sorry Metro but I'm being honest and that's what you wanted. Other than that one piece of Velcro being a little small everything else is perfect just as I want it. I would not hesitate to buy more and probably will buy more soon.

Yah, it's a full 1" on the body side, in hindsight I should of made it 2". I do that now, but I was hoping to reduce the amount of noise. The Full length of 4" long should last a long time.

I have a few more variants coming down the tubes really soon. Glad it's working out for you!!
