Any catalogs to look for in 2008?
on: January 16, 2008, 04:37:01 AM
I know multi-tools generally have to piggy back onto knife company catalogs so what are some company catalogs to request this new year?

Right now I've got:

-SOG, mainly knives but they do have all their multis featured in the '07 catalog, I expect the same for '08.
-Gerber, last time I checked Gerber no longer had a full-feature catalog and had a pamphlet of sorts with a general overview. This may have changed.
-Spyderco, it's got the two Spyderwrenches in it.
-CRKT, expanding their line quite a bit this year.

Do Leatherman, Victorinox and Buck do catalogs? I know Knifecenter has a huge dealer catalog for sale, anyone have an input on whether it is worth it to purchase for the multi user?

Any other companies I forgot that have printed paper catalogs, either for sale or as giveaways?

I've got a few Victorinox catalog/brochures. Don't know if Wenger produces one?

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

I've got a 2005 Leatherman products "pamphlet" I wouldn't call it a catalog. Does LM put one out every year?

I have the 2007 catalogs from Leatherman and Buck. I got them when i bought a buck knife in May of last year, and the dealer sent me both with my package. If you want, i can scan them and post them (or sent to anyone interested).

What dealer did you get the Leatherman catalog from? I collect company catalogs as a side hobby and would be interested purchasing one from the dealer.

I got it from the authorized mexican dealer. but I don't think you want to buy it from him, since shipment costs from Mexico to USA are really high, but i can send you his email address if you want.

Spoon I know what a big fan of Pentagon lights you are and I don't know if you already have them but I have their 2007 products and tactical catalogs if you want them. I have looked at them tons of times and think you would appreciate them more than me. Let me know.

I know it's not a tool catalog, but the 2007 Surefire catalog sure had some pretty pictures in it. I look forward to the 2008 one.

Thank you for the offer on the Pentagonlight catalog, PM inbound.

The Surefire catalog is always a stunning piece, educational and informative with amazing photographs. I can understand why their lights are so expensive just by seeing the production values of their catalogs.

He's what I have found out so far; as a consumer.

-Wenger does not send catalogs to consumers, advised to check the website.

-Buck does not send catalogs to consumers who are not in their 20$/year collectors club. If one is in the collectors club one recieves a copy of the dealer catalog.

-Gerber is still sending out 13 page pamphlets giving an overview of their product line, they did reply to my email with an offer of downloading the dealer catalog.

I'll let you know what everyone else says.

The Swiss are cagey as my favourite bondage parlour, I've been trying to get a dealer catalogue out of them for months.

I sent Leatherman an email a few days ago, they never responded but I found these two guys in my mailbox today:

The Gerber catalog is the same as last year, just an overview.

The Leatherman catalog is very nice and has all the tools and knives featured.

Also;
-Victorinox does not send catalogs to consumers, they advised me the check their website.

I generally only get the Leatherman and Led Lenser cats as far as Multis and LEDs go.

I try to avoid consumerporn, they just make me spend more!

Another FYI:

Gerber now has a substantially larger catalog released to the average user. Send a email to Sales at gerbergear.com with the subject line "Catalog Request" and put your address in the body to receive one.
