I think i got it. The screws were a little loose for the middle pivot. So the scale wasnt straight. Tightened and it all straightened out. Ill use some thread locker. Should solve the problem.

The backspring is in correct.

So beautiful!  Are you going to make those TI toothpicks generally available?  I know I'd love to buy a few.

I can.  This one wasn't anything fancy. I just grabbed a small piece of Ti from my scrap pile and ground it until I felt it looked like a toothpick.  I can machine them though which would be more consistent.

It also rattles around so I dunno if its the best option.  Or I could make them longer I guess so they took up more of the drawer length.  Or maybe a new hybrid tool with one end a mini trident for food eating and the other end a Ti toothpick.

So far I have 5 cadets I am converting to Ti frame with scissors added.  The cost to make these is going to be more than a standard 91mm.  So its kind of a test to see if all the people asking for one of these really wants them or not.  Just making the scissors layer mods alone would be close to 100 in labor.

Nothing Im making or working with will work on alox scales.

Hammered scales with drawer.  Beating dents into that thicker 0.160" Ti stock was bout 50x harder than the normal 0.100" thick stock I use.  Even with heavy heating, I damn near tore the vice off my bench beating the thing with a large sledge hammer.  :D

Was talking about the new small SAK pocket clip Robert makes these days in an earlier conversation.

Got me thinking about how you don’t often see pictures of Roberts creations in the wild posted here.

This is something I had him make to use as a key dangler. Been used every single day since.

Wanted regular alox scales because I love when they are all old and broke in looking.

Forgot to post this picture of the pocket clip. Can’t say enough good things about it. The perfect amount of tension and it hasn’t faded one bit. Still as strong as the day I got it.

These mono layers are 91mm correct?

Wouldn't they technically be two layers?

I say that they're mono because there is only one spring.  :)
That definition makes a Swisschamp 8 layers thick.

I admit, it breaks down when you you try to apply it to a Cybertool or a modded 93mm SAK with pliers.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!
