:ahhh   Thanks for the extra pics Syph - I get it now   :tu:

Also did not realise that the skeleton struts were less than the full scale thickness - Must make it really light

Would one of these microSD card usd adapters fit a SAK drawer?

(Image removed from quote.)

Probably if its thin enough.  Drawer is 0.100" deep.

I do not enjoy sitting doing nothing so I slowly made some 84mm scales with Timascus crosses today.  Very awkward to use a hammer with your off hand.

Aha - I know where one went ....

Any insight into how well the anodized timascus coloring holds up?

Some really great looking knives, although I don´t like different scales front and back - I´d be going for the same pattern on both sides if I was to order one of your creations.
I only own some of your early works (BO´d Spartan) and must say you´ve come a long way - While fitment and quality of work was really good back then you really evolved from modder to knifemaker.
I hope I`ll be able to order a knife one day. Just need to collect some play money and make up my mind on what I want. I fear it would be very boring, like a Spartan or Tinker (small, maybe?!.
The drawer is something I completely missed in my absence. You did create some really nice variations and extra gadgets!
On the skeletoniszed 84: If it has no name yet, I´d like to suggest "Lint collector" . :D

I have one fellow who bought multiple and he says they still look perfect.  I suspect the finely ribbed one is the way to go since it doesn't show fingerprints and plain smooth surface would wear faster.   I have no experience with long term use but it would be easy to re anodize if it did wear.   Since it's heat anodized though it is more durable than electro.

Its actually opposite.  More like EZ clean.  Easy to get lint out with a vacuum.

Definitely seems like an "easy come, easy go" deal, lint-wise.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Ya that's about right.  It's not a big issue though like I thought it might me.  The edges of every cutout are chamfered so no sharp parts to snag on anything.

Oh, don´t worry, I was just  :pok:you. I really like the looks of the skeletonized scales.
And I guess you are right - the 2 layer 84 or 91 that usually rides in my pocket does collect lint and will only give it up when forced to with a toothpick or old toothbrush.
That should be easier with skeletonized scales.

Hey Syph007, I'm a recent member and just recently read through almost all of the pages of this topic (over several days!).  I just had to mention how awesome your work is, and it's great to see how you have evolved over the years.  Best of luck, and keep up the good work.  It's good to see you've healed well enough to begin work again. :salute:

Hey thanks and yes it's been quite a journey since I first heard about modding saks.

Today's prototype was and 84mm drawer scale.

It may be a Frankestein SAK, but would a SAK with the Leatherman bit adapter and your drawer to store bits be possible?

Can Timascus be done in other colors than blue? I think green would look very nice.

Heat anodizing is more art then electro anodize.  I go for purple/gold or blue shades.  If you go too long it goes unicorn.

Working on a Ti bail option I can use with pivot.  Question for bail lovers... Does it have to swing loose (floppy bail) or would it be fine if you had to move it with some resistance.

I think some resistance would be good so you can keep it out of the way when closing the blade

Thanks Syph, I just had to change my pants.  :ahhh

Great idea and execution! I think a little resistance is good so you can avoid the dreaded blade ding.
