How do ya do it? Can it be done with my sharpmaker? I use them all the time cutting paracord and well they are getting kinda dull. Thanks Ash :hatsoff:

I'm pretty sure the sharpmaker video says something about scissors... dunno if you get at such a small pair with it though.

The Sharpmaker has a "hole" in the end for scissors. I reckon SAK scissors might be fairly easy to touch up due to their short length so not having to maintain the angle over a length. I think that makes sense?

Regards, Jon.

I have had very good results from one of these.
http://www.amazon.com/Smith-Abrasives-10-Second-Scissors-Sharpener/dp/B0018VL3JW/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1327964437&sr=1-1-catcorr

When I come across any severe damage like when you cut wire and it leaves larger notches in the blades I use a ceramic rod free hand until I get the desired result and them finish it off with this sharpener.

I sharpen most of my scissors (none of which is a Vic) by cuting sandpaper. Nothing fancy but very effective. When I'm in the mood I go for the wetstones.

I have done this with some small success but on scissors with any significant dings in the cutting edge it does not take them out. I still have to manually sharpen usually with a ceramic rod.

Spyderco Sharpmaker Instructions and other PDF product instruction files at KnivesPlus. The direct link to the PDF file, if you want to skip going to the page, is SpydercoSharpmaker.PDF.

If you are interested in sharpening scissors there are instructions starting on page 13 of the written manual PDF file or at about 7 minutes into part 3 of 4 of the video instructions. There are a total of four parts to the video instructions and the links should be over to the right of this Spyderco video.

These should provide a starting point. I know from watching some scissor sharpening videos about a year ago, that scissor edges can vary. I do not think these videos were posted a year ago*, or whenever it was that I would have liked to find them. [*Uploaded by SpydercoKnives on Nov 22, 2011] I had a very dull or nonfunctional pair of scissors on an used Ambassador and at first I thought I was not going to succeed, but finally had success. I do not remember many particulars, except to carefully examine and then follow the original angle on the scissors. Then, after sharpening the angle, keeping the scissors perfectly flat on the stone, remove any burr on the flat side, as shown in the instructions.

[P.S. The video or media showed in the preview, but I did not see it after posting. Then it showed upon adding this note, so you may or may not see it. In any event the link to the video seems to work fine to take one to the Spyderco Sharpmaker instructional video on YouTube.]
