DEMO TOOLS!
on: January 24, 2008, 10:33:50 AM
Here's some for the kids.

Thoughts?

First of all, Stanley FatMax FuBar - http://images.businessweek.com/di/idea_winners/2007/fubar.jpg

The Biel Tool -

The Hooligan -

There are of course others, though those three seem to be the most known, and have the least moving parts.

I have been interested in demo tools for a while.  The Fubar calls to me every time I go to Canadian Tire or Home Depot, but at the preice they are asking, and me demolishing very few things (on purpose) these days, I have yet to get one.

I bought the FUBAR about 6 monthes ago to do some remodling around the house, and I can tell ya the thing is built like a tank. It was great for getting the Lath and Horsehair plaster off the walls. Also the stud breaker on it will twist a wall stud right out actually quicker than a sawsall can cut it.

THe hooligan tool actually looks cool, I just might have to look into one.

Ace Hardware calls the Stanley FatMax "Fubar" Functional Utility Bar the "Extreme Persuader"

-These boys obviously understand Hardware better than the marketing department!

Hand me that Persuader boy, this gear box needs a fixin'!

I saw a cool prybar tool called the EXHUMER at Sears about a year ago...

This is just a random ebay listing to show you what it is...

The Exhumer appeared in my Duluth Trading Cat.

Apparently it "Makes the Nail Bleed"

Generally by the time I get out a demo tool, the situation is long past pulling nails.

Stanley has some new FUBARs coming out this year.

I, for one, love "extreme technology."

The little 15 inch one looks kinda useful as a smaller brother to the big boy.

However the Entry tool is sweet!!! I would have loved that when I was a door kicker!

these remind me of the pax or what it was called , the  british airforce  survival escape axe..  meant for chopping  your way out of the plane..
those things must have looked realy  futuristic back in the 1930s because they still look pretty funky now!

According to Wikipedia, yes (for what that's worth).  Hooligan is mentioned at the end of the article.:
