well it can be carried from the bottleholder carbiners too.and since i got these new maxpedition grimlocks, those versipacks molle webbings would offer some platform for them :o

some time ago i made two night "expedition" with nothing more than mini kettle, fire steel, surge, hawkbill custom, and paracord, and i countered no problems at all.

I'd love to get something to carry my bits and bobs when out and about but frankly unless its a small rucksack I always feel like a bit of a girl.  You'd think I'd be over such stereotypes having taken on the male mum role but nope.

Ideally I want something small enough that I'll actually be bothered to carry it, cool enough so that I won't have to contend with the manbag jokes, plus I've no desire to look like a mall ninja ;)  you know what I mean

I've just ordered a Maxpat Pigmy 2 (what a crap name ::)) and it looks pretty good for cramming in all your stuff and your kids stuff too, but without being stupidly big :)

MOC BDU Pocket Organizer - CLOSEOUT SALE

The MOC BDU Pocket Organizer is the perfect fit for those cargo pockets on your BDU Pants. Keep all of your essential items secure and in one place with this little case. The front features mesh webbing divided into 3 seperate compartments, the middle one being the perfect size for a pen/pencil. The inside also has an inner pocket to keep documents seperate from your other items. A lanyard is attached to the inside to hook your keys on it.

Great price for a very practical piece of equipment.

Can't argue with the price!

I've just re-waterproofed my littlest rucksack.  I think that will have to do me until I see the non-girly, non-mall-ninja bag of my dreams ;)

I carry one of these brown leather bags to work every day. If I'm going out of town for more than one day I carry two of them.

That's a nice bag.  A bit too big for me to casually carry but as a work or even an overnight bag that's classy.  Very nice  :gimme:

This what I carry every day. I've looked at those maxpedition bags (I could use a bit more pockets) but besides they are mind blowing expensive for just a bag  :ahhh (or is there secretly something more to it that i have looked over ), they do not seem to have a small model that fit a standard A4 paper size. Or did I missed a model?

Maxpedition Proteus Versipack link  Just picked one, may be too big for my needs !  ...  Can be worn like a fannypack, hand-carried, piggy-backed onto MAXPEDITION™ backpacks, or integrated onto ALICE or MOLLE webbing , nice versatile pack.

Well, that bag arrived, and wasnt big enough, nor was it actually the bag I'd won in the auction so I returned it for a full refund. Bought the one I've put a photo up of instead. It has arrived, and seems to be exactly the right size  Fits everything in that I need.

That’s a nice looking bag you got there. What brand is it? And can you take some pics you wearing it so I can have a reference of how big it is?

I’m considering getting a bag, butt can’t find anything I like. Either it’s too big or I don’t like the design. I’m not going too prepare for WW3, just need a bag for my MT, keys, a little first aid kit, a paperback book, maybe a bottle of water and some other small stuff I need.

I carry a Maxpedition Proteus Versipack.  It is a bit smaller than the Fatboy, but I think it will hold all your stuff nice and comfy cozy  :police:

(Image removed from quote.)

10-4 just got a Proteus - nice bag - too big for what I nned it for.

kifaru organizer is now high on my list - just need to sell a few more watches.

Yeah, that Kifaru looks extremely handy, but I was shocked at the price. Does anyone know if any similar organizer bags that are cheaper?

3 days ago I finally found a bag that suited my EDC needs and filled my criteria’s. I love this bag and it’s going too be my EDC bag for a long time.

It has 3 compartments . The first compartment(furthest from the body) is easy access and I keep some gum or fisherman’s friend and non important stuff there. The second compartment (in the middle) is where I keep my MT, some moony, a pen (going too get a space pen), my keys and my work ID. The third and largest compartment (closest too body) is where I keep my Flashlight and red filter.

This is what I EDC. Bottom left: Vortex TC3 Tactical light, red filter for TC3, SOG Powerlock, a pen, work ID.
Top left: Card holder, 100 kr, Fisherman’s Friend or gum and a lighter that is not in the pic

I have a bag.

It is rectangular, and after some close inspection, I have decided the most interesting feature is that it has a strap for carrying.

Unless you consider the colour Black a feature, in which case it has that too.

I've been eyeing maxpedition fatboy for quite some time now but can't justify spending $60 on it. It's a shame not even a bi folded legal size paper can fit, they should've made the back compartment larger.

Sorry for not responding quicker, butt it’s been a couple of hektik days. Butt too answer your question, the main compartment (compartment nr 3 that is closest too your body) is, don’t know how too explain it butt will give it a try. If you are looking straight at it when it’s standing, the hight is aprox 25 cm tall (ca 9 inch), with aprox 20 cm (ca 7,5 inch), depth 13 cm (ca 4 inch). Used the Swisstool too measure :)

I've been carrying everything in a Maxpedition Thermite Versipak for the last month or so:

And despite the funny looks and my own initial discomfort at the idea of a bloke carrying a hand-bag, I think I will continue to do so!

Quality-wise - the bag is top notch, and for me it's probably about the right compromise between capacity and practicality.

Yeah - pretty pleased with it!

I used to come here a lot.
