Solitaire mod?
on: January 26, 2008, 02:28:51 AM
Is there a drop in LED kit for the Mag Solitaire?  Or, is there a fairly easy LED mod that can be done to one?

Or is it just not worth it?

I like the Solitaire, but I can easily see the benefits of an LED upgrade- longer battery life, brighter light etc.  Given how many of these things there are out there I'd be surprised if no one has tried it yet.

If the money is worth the drop in this is one option.

Or you can do your own with a 3mm led and a resistor. Cost about 5 $ but is not very cool running. :ahhh

Pricey little buggers, ain't they?

Still, it might be worth a look to revive my poor lil Solitaires!

I like the look (price) of the second ones better- anyone have any experience with either?  Is an SMJ better than a Nichia, or is the Nichia $5 better?

I think that's a boost circuit in there, not resistor.

There are a couple of very easy Solitare LED mods.  They aren't too expensive either.

I've done both of those.  The 3mm LED isn't super bright, but's it's a definate improvement.  The 5mm requires the reflector to be drilled out, and getting the reflector out is a pain in the butt.
If you took all the intestines out of your body and stretched them end to end... you would die.
